We wrapped up National Skilled Nursing Care Week with “Donuts and a Drive!” Everyone who wanted to participate placed an order from Flour Chick's Bakery, choosing from 43 delicious options including donuts, scones, Danishes, turnovers, and croissants.
We loaded up the bus and enjoyed a beautiful morning drive to Nevis. When we arrived, the bakery staff had lovingly packaged each order separately, making it easy for everyone to enjoy their own special treat — and save some for later, because the donuts were huge!
As we rode back, we shared memories of our favorite bakeries and beloved donut flavors from years gone by. Once we returned, goodies were delivered to all the residents who had ordered but were unable to join the bus ride. Smiles filled the halls as each sweet delivery was made.
A huge thank you to Flour Chick's Bakery for helping make this such a sweet and memorable experience!

With this year’s National Skilled Nursing Care Week theme, “Moments in Bloom,” we knew there was no better way to celebrate than by planting flowers together! 🌸
Our residents lovingly helped create beautiful large planters that will welcome everyone at the entrances to our community. It was so heartwarming to watch them choose their flowers, get their hands in the dirt, and enjoy the simple joy of planting together.
These special planters will continue to bloom and brighten our community all summer long, giving everyone something beautiful to enjoy each day. 🌼

With the theme “Moments in Bloom,” we hosted a Flower Power Scavenger Hunt for our residents and staff! Participants searched throughout the community for five different colored cardstock flowers. Once all five flowers were found, they turned them in to be entered into a prize drawing.
Our winners received a fun gardening-themed prize package that included a planter, potting soil, seeds, candy, and chocolate. 🌸🍫
This activity was a wonderful way to encourage everyone to get out, explore, socialize, and enjoy time together throughout our community. It truly brought moments of fun, connection, and blooming smiles to all who participated!

During National Skilled Nursing Care Week, our residents and staff came together to celebrate this year’s theme, “Moments in Bloom.” One of the favorite activities of the week was our staff/resident bingo game. Residents absolutely love the opportunity to team up with staff members for a fun and friendly competition. If their partner wins, they win too — making every game exciting from start to finish!
The room was filled with laughter, cheering, and plenty of memorable moments as teams worked together hoping to hear “Bingo!” There were also lots of special prizes throughout the event, including mugs, candy, gift cards, lotion, and many other fun goodies. Best of all, everyone went home a winner with at least one prize. Events like these truly help create meaningful connections and joyful memories for both residents and staff.

The other day was filled with sweet moments and happy smiles as our residents enjoyed a relaxing country bus drive together. We started the afternoon with ice cream cones, which everyone loved, and then headed out through the beautiful countryside.
One of the highlights of the evening was stopping at a farm where we were able to see chickens, goats, baby calves, cows, a donkey, and a pony up close. The animals were so gentle and adorable, and it brought so much joy to everyone to be able to see and interact with them.
The fresh country air, the peaceful scenery, the ice cream cones and the laughter shared throughout the evening made this outing truly special. Country drives always these create wonderful memories.

We celebrated Mother’s Day with a beautiful tea that included residents and their families. The room was filled with special touches—elegant decorations, lovely tablecloths, charming centerpieces, and thoughtfully arranged place settings.

Our dietary department truly made the day extra special, serving coffee, punch, delicate tea sandwiches, sweet treats, and fresh fruit.

It was a wonderful time of connection, celebration, and appreciation—and everyone left feeling truly spoiled and cared for.

Our residents recently had the opportunity to enjoy a virtual tour of Itasca Park, guided by the dedicated park personnel. The tour showcased the park's stunning scenery, offering glimpses of natural beauty that many of us might not encounter in person. We learned about the wide range of activities and opportunities available at Itasca Park, from scenic hikes and wildlife viewing to educational programs and outdoor recreation. It was a wonderful chance to explore and appreciate the natural splendor and resources of this incredible park, all from the comfort of our community.
