I’d like to invite everyone to my course entitled “Pain Through A Biopsychosocial Lens,” which I will be holding on Tuesday October 11th from 7 pm to 9 pm at Infinity Foundation in Highland Park.
Physical pain is something every human being experiences at some point in their life, and it is the number one reason people come to me for help as a physical therapist.
In addition to being unpleasant, pain can be frightening and can interfere with our enjoyment of life, limit our recovery from injury, and even prevent us from participating in activities that bring joy and meaning to our lives.
Our understanding of pain has developed considerably in the last couple of decades, and it is a phenomenon that most everyday people — and even many health professionals — have outdated and even counter-productive beliefs about.
In this course, we will explore the complex interplay of factors that contribute to the experience of pain to dispel common myths and misconceptions, and provide a framework for interpreting and understanding pain that can help break the cycle of fear, limited capability, and decreased participation in important activities.
If this sounds good to you, please register to join me on October 11th from 7 to 9pm at infinityfoundation.org
I hope to see you there!
Be well!
