Well sadly we have a new youngest age for prostate cancer at 44. Most doctors don't check for prostate cancer with PSA until age 50 if they check at all. We check all men beginning at age 45 and even sooner in some cases. Don't be a statistic to the #1 cancer in men which will be fatal if not detected and treated in a timely manner.

Just had my youngest prostate cancer patient ever. Age 47. Guys, make sure you get your PSA at age 45 and up every year. I don't care what the literature says about PSA being a controversial test. Some PCPs have stopped ordering it or leave it up to their patients. No! I have saved 4 men aged 52 or less with PSA testing just in the last 4 years since opening MHOP. Prostate cancer is the #1 cancer in men. Caveat: Doing PSA beyond aged 70 is probably not worth the benefit risk ratio so I do stop testing at 70. ⚕️

MHOP will be closed today and tomorrow. Dr. Brooks will be in Huntington serving as the doctor and co-trainer for the Big Red wrestling team and for other high school athletes who need medical attention. Let's hope and pray for an uneventful tournament weekend and have a great 3 days of injury free wrestling.
