New Therapist Spotlight!
Hi, my name is Trisha Stephens. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my approach to therapy.
I was born in Ashland, KY, and raised in the small rural community of Rush in Boyd County. In 2023, I moved to West Virginia with my husband, Steve. We share our home with five dogs and two cats, and I’ve always had a deep love for animals. Outside of work, I enjoy board games, music, concerts, and spending time outdoors.
I earned my Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville in 2019, after completing my Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religious Studies at Morehead State University in 2012. I often joke with my family that I found a way to get paid to talk about life and philosophy—and in many ways, that’s what I do now. I help people explore their lives, clarify their goals, and take steps toward achieving them.
In therapy, I use an eclectic approach because no two people are alike. Each client’s story is unique, so treatment should be tailored to their individual needs. My goal is always to provide respect, care, and a non-judgmental space where clients feel safe and supported.
I work with clients of all ages and backgrounds, addressing concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, religious trauma, self-esteem issues, and challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ and Veterans/Military communities, among others.
I understand how overwhelming life can feel at times. Let me walk alongside you—helping you build coping skills for the difficult moments and making room to fully enjoy the positive ones.
I am accepting new clients with many insurances including Medicare, Medicaid, BCBS, PEIA, Aetna, and Peak!
Therapy provided to an individual person. Sometimes family members attend, but it is in the support of the primary person for whom therapy revolves around.
