🦁🐒 Sensory Camp: Adventures at the Zoo! 🐅🦜

Our campers had a wildly wonderful time exploring the zoo, making memories, and engaging in fun, inclusive activities designed to meet sensory needs while sparking creativity, movement, and connection. 🌟

A huge thank-you to our Sensory Camp Sponsor – WVABLE for making these adventures possible! 💛 Thank you to our staff and volunteers and New Hope Baptist Church WV for allowing us use of your beautiful space!

Throughout the day, campers enjoyed:
✨ WVU Medicine Occupational Therapy & Physical Therapy sessions – encouraging movement, coordination, and confidence. WVU Medicine
🧩 Marshall University Autism Training Center – supporting learning, communication, and sensory-friendly engagement. West Virginia Autism Training Center at Marshall University
🎨 Artbeat Studio & Artsbridge, Inc. – bringing creativity to life through hands-on art experiences.
🎶 Music Therapy with Abby (Abby Dodds, MM, MT-BC) – creating joy, rhythm, and self-expression through music.

Mark your calendars for September 20, 2025, as we host our Cash Bingo event in support of Wood County Society, where every dollar raised furthers our mission.

Advance tickets are available for $20 for 20 exciting games, while door tickets are $25 for the same experience.

Tickets are limited to 150, so act promptly!

The venue doors will open at 12 pm, with games starting at 1 pm.

🦁🐾 Sensory Camp 2025 Adventure at the Zoo 🐾🦁

Day 1 of Wood County Society’s Autism Connections Program Sensory Camp – Adventure at the Zoo was a roaring success! 🎉

Wednesday our campers dove into a full day of hands-on fun, including:
🎨 Art in the form of Therapy
🎶 Music Therapy
🧠 Sensory Interventions
🤸‍♀️ PT/OT Activities
🤝 Social Groups
🧪 STEM Play

From animal-inspired crafts to interactive play, the day was full of laughter, learning, and connection.

💙Sensory Camp 2025 has arrived!💚

This is our third year of hosting Kids’ Sensory Camp through Wood County Society’s Autism Connections Program!

In addition to programming for our youth, this is the second year Sensory Camp has offered a Parent and Caregiver Resource Fair that is open to the public! We have many community organizations that offer resources to youth and families across the Mid-Ohio Valley joining us today!

Stop by New Hope Baptist Church on Rosemar Road TODAY until 11am, and again between 1pm and 3pm to see what some of our community partners have to offer!💙💚

With another day of fun, fundraising, and impact in the books, the Wood County Society team of staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of the golfers, sponsors, and donors who made the 2025 Heritage Golf Classic possible!⛳️

Your support of our organization through this tournament creates empowering, meaningful, and life changing opportunities for community members with intellectual and developmental differences across the Mid-Ohio Valley! Some golfed, some sponsored holes or the events themselves, some donated to our silent action, but ALL of you showed up to support the individuals we support through free and accessible programs and resources!

We would like to give a special thank you to the team of staff and family at RSN Promotions for their Premier Sponsorship and operational support for the Heritage Classic each of the last three years!

A huge THANK YOU to our volunteers for making our annual Wood County Society Heritage Golf Tournament a resounding success! From the early-morning set-up crews to the dedicated hole monitors, registration helpers, raffle organizers, lunch servers, and everyone in between-this day simply wouldn't have happened without you.

Your time, energy, and heart helped us create a day full of fun, friendly competition, and community spirit-all in support of Wood County Society's mission of inclusion, opportunity, and empowerment for individuals of all abilities.
