This summer will be Summer # 10 for Yoga At The Point Park! Starting this year on May 28th, you can come out every Wednesday evening for a FREE class beside the river. I absolutely love that this is a thing in the MOV and if you've never been, you should check it out!
Raise your hand if you have NEVER been to Yoga at the Point over the last 10 years!!!

Trying something new, like taking a yoga class for the first time, can feel uncomfortable. You might worry about not knowing what to do, not being “good at it,” or feeling out of place. That’s totally normal. Our minds are wired to protect us from the unknown, and fear is just one of the ways that protection shows up. But here’s the thing: Yoga is a practice of showing up exactly as you are. No experience required. No judgment. No need to “get it right.”
Fear is often connected to the ego…the part of us that wants to stay safe and in control. But yoga invites us to soften the grip of the ego, to trust in the process, and to remember that growth often comes from discomfort. When we step onto the mat, we’re not just stretching our bodies…we’re stretching our capacity for self-awareness, courage, and resilience.
Sthira sukham asanam: this foundational sutra teaches us that a yoga posture is both steady (sthira) and easeful (sukha) . That balance doesn't just apply to poses; it applies to our whole approach. We don’t grow if we never wobble. We don’t evolve if we always play it safe.
So, if you’ve been thinking about coming to class but something’s holding you back…this is your sign. It’s okay to feel nervous. It’s okay to be new. Just come. Yoga isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present. Plus, its FREE!
