The Arc of the Mid Ohio Valley provides programs and services to over 3,000 families/individuals on an annual basis. The Mid Ohio Valley chapter of The Arc serves a 10-county region, but expands to the entire state of West Virginia for several programs. We oversee and implement 28 programs and services in the areas of family support and advocacy, information and referral, direct support, adult liv

ing skills, health and wellness, early intervention, assistive technology and individual and community education. We would like our page to be a responsive and motivating environment for all to enjoy and partake. Did you know that Medicaid provides access to healthcare for nearly half of all children ages 0-18 in West Virginia?

Medicaid also provides access to behavioral and mental healthcare for approximately 60% of youth ages 12-17 in the state.

Wood County Society is proud to offer these trainings in partnership and collaboration with Astrive Advocacy and funded by the WV Developmental Disabilities Council.

Behavior - Special Education Supports, Interventions, and Discipline & Parent and School Responsibilities: This training will cover Collecting Data, Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA), Positive Behavior Intervention Plans (PBIP), Suspensions, Alternate Settings, Manifestation Determination Hearings, IEP Goals and Accommodations, Requesting an Aide, etc.

Wednesday, April 2, 2025 - 5:30pm - 8:30pm

Dispute Resolution - Getting what My Child Needs When Things are Not Going Well or When Policies are Not Being Followed: This training will cover Examples and Types of Violations to Special Education Laws, School and Parent Documentation, Using Prior Written Notice (PWN), Requesting Facilitated IEPs, Writing and Submitting State Complaints, Mediation, Early Resolution, Due Process Complaints, etc.
