Think you can't get a massage because you have trouble laying on your back or stomach for extended periods of time? There are options for you! Side-lying, incorporating the use of bolsters and pillows to prop the body, and receiving massage while in a seated position in a massage chair are all alternatives to the normal supine (face -up) and prone (face down) positioning.

Why might someone need to use an alternative to the normal supine and prone postions? There are many reasons but to name a few: vertigo, pregnancy, ports, recovering from surgery, sinus issues, and the list goes on.

Please let me know if you need or want to try adding some of the bolsters and pillows to your next massage session.

Maybe some of you don't know this about me... I wanted to be a geologist. I loved the science, being outside, and I LOVED rocks! Many years have passed since I was a geology major in college; I am now a licensed massage therapist, and guess what... I still love rocks!!! I love the science involved in massage therapy, I love the freedom it will give me to spend my free time outdoors, and I love that I still get to play with rocks.
