For over three decades, Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home has been honored to serve families in Parkersburg with dignity and compassion. Our story is rooted in the dream of one man and the dedication of his family.

Joseph H. Lambert was born and raised in Parkersburg along with his brothers and sisters where the value of hard work was instilled from an early age. Joe began his career in funeral service as a teenager, developing a deep passion for serving others. Though his career later led him into other ventures, he always carried with him the dream of opening his own funeral home in his hometown.

That dream became a reality in 1990 when property became available on Green Street in downtown Parkersburg. After months of planning and hard work, Joe and his family watched as their vision took shape. That November, the first Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home opened its doors.

From the very beginning, the business was a family endeavor. Joe and his wife, Wilma Howard Lambert, were joined by their nephew, Steven L. Tatman, a licensed funeral director. Soon after, Joe and Wilma’s son, H. Brent Lambert, and Joe’s brother, Thomas Lambert, also became part of the original staff, establishing a tradition of service and family values that continues to this day.

Did you know that, according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime? Thanks to advances in early detection and treatment, survival rates have improved significantly. As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we stand in support of survivors, those currently fighting, and we remember the loved ones we have lost to this disease.
