Last Friday (August 26th) we hosted our first ever, bi-annual Harmony Olympics!! We decided to take the day off from work, and utilize that time on a team-building exercise called competition 😁. We had 5 teams all representing their own team colors (Black, Yellow, Blue, Green, and Red). We had various games, both individual and collectively such as egg relay, lawn darts, 4 square, cup pyramid stacking, and more! In the end, the Black team took home the gold but it was a tight and even contest till the end. We would like to thank all of our staff, our CEO Felicia Bush for hosting the event, and our Chief Business officer Skylar Davis, and our Special Events Coordinator Amy Taylor for coming up with the concept and preparing the event! We would like to extend our thanks to the Harmony judges and other individuals who helped with the set-up and scoring our events.
More photos will be released in the near future, until then, enjoy a collection of 20+ photos of the fun filled event!
See you all for the 2024 event!!!!

June and November are recognized as Men's Mental Health Month. Statistically, men are less likely to get therapy to treat their mental illness, and across these two months, it is important that we break the stigma surrounding men and mental health. It is ok to ask for help, and as a community, we need to teach our young boys that they can express themselves and not hold onto their emotions or trauma.
For more information on Men's mental health, visit the link down below for an infographic breakdown on the stats pertaining to this topic.

Since we are in Pride Month, you will see a heap of brands changing their logo to rainbow colors, or posting pride pictures every day of the week. But things remain the same at the systemic level of these corporations, where LGBTQ+ community do not feel welcomed nor celebrated. It is fine to brandish a rainbow flag, and allyship is important, but it takes more than empty gestures for change to really happen. Employ people who are just as qualified from the LGBTQ+ community, make the communities around you feel safe and loved, have an open space for people to truly be their authentic self.
At Harmony, we value people who are from the LGBTQ+ community. We give support to people year-round and have a welcoming environment for our employees and our clients to love who they love, as we believe, that love is never wrong.
“Equality means more than passing laws. The struggle is really won in the hearts and minds of the community, where it really counts.” — Barbara Gittings

URGENT: HB 4440 is headed to the House Political Subdivisions Committee at 6 p.m.
Across the U.S., local law enforcement agencies have opted against irrelevant interrogations about immigration status while conducting investigations.
This commonsense approach saves time and resources. It also helps foster more trust between immigrant communities and law enforcement.
State lawmakers are pushing an overly broad bill that would force law enforcement to spend extra time interrogating people about immigration status. HB 4440 will undermine trust between communities and police. When people are afraid to call for help or report a crime, it makes us all less safe.
This bill could also bankrupt small towns and cities that lack the resources to comply with its mandates – it imposes a $10,000 per day fine for “knowingly harboring illegal immigrants.”
Tell committee members this bill is bad for public safety:
