Calling all Gardeners and Plant Lovers in the Parkland/Spanaway area! 🪴

In partnership with and , we are working to launch a new Gardening Moai this Spring!

This will be a community-led effort to bring more gardens to our neighborhoods while creating opportunities to move naturally and grow fresh produce. Together, community members will maintain garden boxes, participate in workshops, and dive deeper into the science of gardening.

Whether you've always had a green thumb, or you just want to try something new, we invite you to join us! 🤝

One of our first projects will be pouring some love into the 5 community garden beds over at . Produce from the project will support the church's food pantry and community meals!

Come volunteer with us at on March 25th to help feed Pierce County families 🤝

Repack Project volunteers transform bulk food shipments into family-sized portions that are ready to help feed the community! With the support of volunteers, EFN's Lakewood Distribution Center repacks food for 75+ food pantries, meal sites, and shelters in the area.

We have space for 10-15 community members to join us in supporting the Repack Project on March 25th - a great opportunity for any looking to get volunteer hours, build community, and give back to an amazing organization!

Amazing energy at today's Walking School Bus w/ 🏃💨

Located in Parkland, Christensen Elementary became a Blue Zones Project Approved school in March 2025! Since then, their staff have worked hard to integrate principles into their school culture.

Today our team joined the Christensen community for a modified Walking School Bus - providing students and teachers with the opportunity to move naturally and build community before starting their day!

Many walked, some ran, and we all had a great time! We are proud of Christensen for putting the Power 9 values into practice and helping us create a healthier community.

Over the weekend, we had an amazing group of volunteers join us to support 's Home Renovation Project! 🛠️

Together, we tackled the deconstruction of a Spanaway home that is on its way to a complete renovation - clearing debris, removing old flooring and door ways, and more. We laughed, we learned, and most importantly, we helped make a difference!

The Home Renovation Project is dedicated to updating and converting 80 single-family homes into units of affordable homeownership for Parkland and Spanaway families. For more information, make sure you follow !

Tonight, we'll be in Spanaway hosting our Financial Wellness Moai: Prepare for Homeownership with Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity!

Feel like you fell off your financial goals and New Year's resolutions? You're not alone and it's not too late to reset!

Meet us at 6pm to discuss setting SMART money goals, tips for budgeting, and how finances play into the home-buying process!

We'll also have a light dinner + space for kids activities if you need to bring your little ones!

📣 This month, we're bringing the Financial Wellness Moai to Spanaway!

The Financial Wellness Moai is a free, 2-part monthly workshop series designed to help residents build stronger financial foundations and prepare for homeownership in the Parkland and Spanaway communities! 🏡

What to expect this month: • Create SMART financial goals you can commit to

• Build a clear action plan towards homeownership
 • Get expert guidance from an Accredited Financial Counselor
 • Connect with neighbors who are working toward similar goals

PLUS:
🍽️ Light meals provided for registered participants
 🖍️ Blue Zones-inspired activities for youth so caregivers can participate

This month's workshops will take place at the Bethel Family Center on February 20th and 27th!

Join us on February 21st to volunteer with & bring affordable homeownership to our community! 🏡

For this month's volunteer opportunity, we'll be supporting Habitat for Humanity's Home Renovation Project! This project is dedicated to updating and converting 80 single-family rental homes in the area into units of affordable homeownership! 🛠️

This time around, we're looking for 8-10 community members to join us in Spanaway on Saturday, 2/21 from 9am - 1pm! We'll be pouring love into one of the many homes that will be available to Parkland and Spanaway residents soon!

📣 Hey Parkland and Spanaway! Do you know anyone who is passionate about healthy living and interested in hosting community classes?

We are currently looking for more instructors to support our Healthy Living Series programming at Sprinker Rec Center in partnership with ! 💪

Led by instructors who are heavily invested in Pierce County, each of our Healthy Living Series classes and workshops help residents live better, longer.

These classes are free for the public to attend, welcoming for all experience levels, and provide a great atmosphere for building meaningful relationships with your neighbors.

Instructors are compensated for their time and Blue Zones Project Parkland-Spanaway will provide any materials needed to facilitate!
