Parkston is #1!!!

Our thanks to everyone who cast a vote in the Levitt grant competition. Your support and enthusiasm brought us the most votes out of any community competing for these grants across the United States.

What an incredible achievement. The strong showing demonstrates how much our community and individuals across the region believe in the work we are doing and the impact we can have together. We are excited to be well positioned to be selected for a grant to provide a free outdoor music series at the Parkston Amphitheater

We're working diligently to provide materials for the next round of the selection process, and we will learn more about the final grant awards in November.

Thank you all for your participation and encouragement as work to provide opportunities for our community to come together and collectively enjoy the medicine that music provides.

With fall sports well underway we know that injury takes not only a physical toll on our young athletes, but it can have impacts to mental health as well. At the beginning of the seasons our health care providers, and several of the Parkston school coaching staff heard from Lana Loeken from Lost and Found to learn about the impact that sports injuries have on mental health. It was a great collaboration, and we look forward to being able to work together to support our student athletes in all aspects of injury support and prevention.
