Rafter 2C Ranch

Rafter 2C Ranch We started this cattle business with the objective to produce quality, gentle beef cattle to perform in any aspect.

We raise registered Beefmasters and Commercial cattle consisting of Angus, Brangus, Hereford, Braford, Charlois and other beef breeds We keep strict, detailed records of each cow/calf and even have picture documentation of each year's calf produced from every cow. We vaccinate annually and worm twice a year; other maintenance is completed as needed (such as hoof trim, doctor, preg check, semen test, etc...). As calves are born, we ear tag immediately, castrate by banding [if not registered stock], and weigh by tape. We keep minerals available at all times and occasionally creep feed calves in winter. If you have any questions about our practice, please email, message, or call us!

This is the side of ranching that is not glorious and I think it should be talked about more. Thousands of ranchers practice stewardship, putting their livestock’s needs before their own comfort. For us today, that included putting out hay in 50 degree rainy weather, trying to make our way through the mud of the housing development construction just so we can get the necessary roughage to the cows so they can eat to stay warm. We have been dealing with this for three years now on our biggest lease, working around it and going with the daily changes. Of course we would love to own the land to keep this from happening but since we don’t have that kind of money, we take whatever we can get and keep fighting to keep our cattle business afloat!

Always something happens🤣 We got out of this just to get stuck farther down the road again🤪

I just took 8 good mama cows to Arcadia Livestock Market to sell today 11/11/24 (Lot 61) if anyone is interested in getting easy to work, gentle cows. There is nothing wrong with these cows and throw/raise nice calves regularly; the only reason I'm selling is because I need some money due to some unexpected bills. They are all 2016 models except for one is a 2014. Two of them are registered Beefmaster's and the rest are first crosses. They are all due to calve from February to April from either fullblooded Beefmaster bull or Angus/Beefmaster bulls (all black). I had nothing to cull them for so the only reason I'm getting rid of these is that most are horned (or were scooped when they were younger) and two are polled. I can give you their records if you end up with one.
