Busy January with Missing person search, Winter Field Day, 1st Aid training and a four cold Food PODS.

Another busy year with over 5,000 volunteer man hours. At NJ FEMA rates that amounts to about $240,000. The usual Parades, Fireworks, Halloween, Fall Festival, summer concerts & movies, rabies clinic etc. Our largest effort continues to be our weekly food distribution. 44 Food POD’s, on average serving 250 families each week = 11,000 food deliveries. 11 Missing persons calls, 6 storm responses, and 3 -5K charity events. Plus the usual training and drills. Thanks to all our volunteers!

Merry Christmas from NJ DOT - - NOT Really. Vicious winds blew the cross arm and travelers were looking at both RED and GREEN signals. OEM closed off the intersection and waited 3 hours for a crane to repair it. Meanwhile other units we standing by at road closures for downed trees and live wires.

A three-hour tour…..… or so we thought. Routine neighborhood patrols for Halloween, turned into a 6-hour challenge thanks to 60+ mph winds downing trees, poles, and wires across the town……thanks Gilligan!

A very busy week with 3 search missions. This week, Pipeline Safety training seminar, Monthly meeting on ICS and Staging, weekly Food POD, Trunk N Treat, and finishing with a Breast Cancer 5K with 3500 folks.
