Eyeball fun facts of the day!👁️👁️

👁️The brain is the only organ in our bodies more complex than the eye.

👁️The cornea is the only part of the body that receives its oxygen directly from the air, not the lungs.

👁️Heterochromia is a rare condition that affects the iris-the colored part of your eye-and is characterized by having two different colored eyes.

👁️Your cornea does not contain blood vessels.

👁️Blue eyes don't have any blue pigment in them, they actually lack the brown pigmentation called melanin in the front layer of the eye. This causes light to scatter and reflect back, giving the appearance of blue eyes.

👁️Your eye muscles are the fastest moving muscles in your body.

👁️Green eyes are the rarest natural eye color. Only about 2% of the worlds population has green eyes. This is due to the low levels of melanin, a yellow pigment called lipochrome, and how the light scatters and reflects off the eyes.
