About Us
Parsons Pharmacist, Don Brenner had an idea in 1961 to add a pharmacy onto the front porch of his family’s home at 1519 Main Street. Local contractor Donald Ginn was hired to build what was to become Brenner Presription. Brenner Prescription opened in July 1961 and remained open for 14 years until Wm. (Bill) D. Bowen purchased it in 1975. Bill kept the Brenner Prescription name for three years before changing it to Bowen Pharmacy. He owned and operated the hometown pharmacy for 25 years until current owners, Pharmacist Brian West and his wife, Amy, purchased Bowen Pharmacy in September 2003. They plan on keeping the Bowen name and believe the reputation it stands for of how they do business is important to their customers – letting them know that’s how Brian intends to keep doing business in Parsons for years to come.
When Brian and Amy purchased the business, they retained the four employess that worked for Bill Bowen. They now have 13 employees and lots of years of experience! They continue to offer the best in pharmacy services with a state-of-the-art Script Pro Robot, two beautiful stores with convenient locations and now a new durable medical equipment facility. Along with their growing business came their growing family. In October of 2004 they welcome triplet boys, Mason, Brady and Davis, to the family and in 2009 added a beautiful little girl, Neely, to the bunch.
Family and providing the best care for their friends and neighbors is the heart of Bowen Pharmacy. People recognize and respond to that kind of genuine care and concern in today’s hustle and bustle of big corporations. Customers see the value in quality care and customer service, and so do Brian and Amy West. They look forward to serving generations to come!
