Kansas Inservice Training System - KITS KITS is a KU program and is supported by a KDHE grant to provide training to IDEA Part C Programs.

The Kansas Inservice Training System (KITS) has extensive experience and is designed to provide training, technical assistance, and resources for early intervention and early childhood special education program staff on a comprehensive statewide basis. Parents and staff of agencies collaborating with early intervention and preschool programs are afforded the opportunity to be involved in all activities associated with the KITS. The comprehensive system of supports and services are realized through four identified system components of collaboration / linkages, information services, training, and technical assistance. KITS is a program of the University of Kansas Life Span Institute at Parsons and is supported through a grant from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment-Early Childhood Services to provide training and technical assistance to IDEA Part C Programs. The KCCTO-KITS Infant-Toddler Specialist Network is a program of the Kansas Child Care Training Opportunities, Inc. and the University of Kansas Life Span Institute at Parsons and is supported through a grant from the Kansas Department for Children and Families' Child Care and Early Education Services. Information or opinions expressed herein do not necessarily reflect the position or policy of these agencies and no official endorsement should be inferred.

Modeling pronunciation of words for your baby is a key strategy in supporting their language development! When you articulate words clearly and accurately, you provide them with a strong foundation for learning language. Babies are naturally curious and attentive to the sounds they hear, so using correct pronunciation helps them understand and replicate words more effectively. Engaging in conversation, reading aloud, and repeating words during daily activities enhances their vocabulary and comprehension. Plus, this practice builds their confidence as they start to mimic your speech patterns. Every interaction is a valuable opportunity for them to learn and grow!
