Big news! We are very excited to announce the Sacopee Valley Nursing and Home Health Care ride-share program! This will allow us to transport the veterans and other mature members of our community, to the places they may need to go (the mall, the hospital, etc.)!

We have decided to throw a bottle drive and have created an account with Village Variety Redemption in Parsonsfield, Maine to make this possible!

If you would like to donate your bottles but cannot transport them on your own, we will gladly pick them up for you! Please just give our office a call at (207) 625-9415!

We appreciate our community and want to take the extra step to help out wherever we can! Thank you to all that participate!

You deserve a break, too!

Being a caregiver, whether as a loved one or paid support, is a taxing on both physical and emotional health. When we are constantly pouring out to others it can be difficult to find time to take care of ourselves- but this is essential to continue on and provide the best care possible. Caregiver burnout is a real thing - try some of these ideas to help prevent it.

If you are caring for your loved one and are experiencing symptoms of caregiver burnout please reach out to a local support group or give us a call to find out about paid services.

Today is World Alzheimer’s Day - a day to bring awareness to and break the stigma of this disease. We hope one day there is a cure - but will continue to support those diagnosed with dignity until then. This cause is close to our hearts and we have some caregivers doing the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in October. If you’d like to donate to our team please go to: http://act.alz.org/goto/SVNHHC

We would like to introduce our new agency nurse, Kate!

Kate comes to us as a seasoned professional nurse with experience in many arenas, including many years at Maine Medical Center in trauma, post op, burns, etc. She’s worked in home care and hospice, as well as managing a clinic for a therapeutic wilderness program for adolescents. Her expertise is in the GI world having developed and managed a biologic infusion program for a large GI practice in Portland, ME. She served concurrently on national faculty for Johnson and Johnson pharmaceuticals, where she remains as a per diem clinical educator.
She owns and operates Mountain Gate Farm, a lodging destination in Denmark, Maine.
With a lifelong heart for nursing and the care of those in need, she’s also a lover of animals and enjoys the great outdoors with her faithful canine companions.
Her personal faith leads the way, and she incorporates this in all she touches.
Cooking, reading, and writing bring her great satisfaction. Gardening, and the care of her home bring joy.
