Recipes and resources for life after bariatric surgery. After you have approval from your bariatric team, It can be difficult to not become bored with your standard menu.

I made this page so that people can use it as a resource, and post recipes that they would like to share.

Quinoa Lentil Burger
Yields: 4 | Serving size: 1 burger | Calories: 268 | Total Fat: 8 g | Saturated Fats: 1 g | Trans Fats: 0 g | Cholesterol: 0 mg | Sodium: 679 mg | Carbohydrates: 42 g | Dietary fiber: 9 g | Sugars: 7 g | Protein: 10 g | SmartPoints: 8 |

Ingredients

Burger Recipe:
1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons olive oil
1/4 cup diced red onion
1 cup cooked quinoa, cook according to package instructions
1 cup cooked brown lentils, drained
1 (4 ounce) can diced green chilies
1/3 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup White Whole Wheat Flour or Whole Wheat Flour
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/4 cup whole wheat panko bread crumbs, or whole grain bread crumbs
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and Pepper to taste
Honey Dijon Mustard Recipe
2 tablespoons Dijon Mustard
3 teaspoons honey
Directions

Sauté onion in 2 teaspoons olive oil until tender, about 4 minutes.

Prepare Honey Dijon mustard by combining the ingredients and refrigerating until ready to use.

Thoroughly combine all burger ingredients in a large mixing bowl, make into 4 burger style patties. In a large skillet, on medium heat add 1 tablespoon olive oil, add patties and cook until brown on both sides, about 10-12 minutes. Enjoy with your favorite bun or roll, spread on Honey Dijon Mustard if desired.

Suggested toppings: sautéed mushrooms, tomato, red onion, romaine lettuce and Honey Dijon Mustard

Shelly's Apple Nachos

1/2 cup Ricotta Cheese
1-2 Tablespoons Sugar Free Torani Caramel Syrup
A variety of toppings: Crumbled Protein Bar, Peanuts, Almonds, Powdered Peanut Butter, Protein Powder, Melted Peanut Butter, Cinnamon or Apple Pie Spice, Unsweetened Toasted Coconut, anything you like.
Honeycrisp Apple Slices

Mix the ricotta and syrup together, sprinkle with Apple Pie Spice. Slice apples arrange around dip. I topped mine with a Tablespoon of melted Peanut Butter (25 seconds or so nuked), a hunk of crumbled protein bar, and a couple of crushed almonds.
