How does physical therapy help arthritis?

Physical and occupational therapy is a commonly recommended treatment for arthritis patients because it really helps to target pain through specialized treatments such as manuel therapy and joint mobilization. They work to target pain, strengthen joints that have been weakened by damage and inflammation and encourages blood flow. Physical therapy exercises can help reduce joint pain and stiffness, as well as improve range of motion, making you more mobile. Occupational therapists can also provide splints for your hands or wrists, and recommend assistive devices to aid in tasks such as driving, bathing, and other work related activities.

The condition is caused by a blockage in the lymphatic system, part of the immune and circulatory systems. Lymphedema is most commonly caused by lymph node removal or damage due to cancer treatment.
