Employee of the Month

Shon grew up in Houston. She was extremely active in all sports throughout her school years, and she also graduated in the top of her class from Wheatley High School. For Shon, a nice day off equates to spending relaxing time with family and friends. Although, she started her career at The Reserve earlier this year, she has made a big impression. Shon is very attentive to the needs and wants of the residents. She believes in teamwork, sometimes assisting before being asked. Her jovial and pleasant personality aligns with the community's friendly and warm reputation. Shon, thank you for the exceptional service you provide.

Exciting time at The Reserve... The residents were showered with gifts and flowers from the great guys of Spike Metamorphosis. The entertaining group always make the residents feel special and appreciated. They sang karaoke style captivating the residents' attention. Some of the residents as well as Chloe, Community Marketer, showcased their vocals during this time. The fellowship was warm and inviting. Everyone had a marvelous time.

The July 4th celebration was electrifying. The entertainer, Tony Mac, The Singing DJ's rendition of the oldies resonated with the residents. The experience was extraordinary. The residents were singing and dancing and everyone was enjoying the moment. Our own Chef Roy provided a divine meal. The entire event was full of greatness. Some of the resident wore their patriotic cowboy hats which set the mood. The atmosphere was full of greatness. The entertainment was great, the decorations were great, the food was great...who could ask for better?! Thank you to our dedicate community partners and our devoted families who joined us to make this a memorable event.

Today is National Hydration Day...It was established in 2016 to educate the public about the importance of drinking water. Dehydration causes severe physical as well as mental problems among the elderly. Ms. Bobbie and Ms. Vickie walked the building passing out flavored water in an effort to bring awareness to the need for hydration.

Jessica grew up in Houston, Texas. She is a devoted wife and a mother of four children, Jerry, Daemon, Emma, and Jazmine. She loves to read. Jessca is extremely creative, art being her niche. Often, she assists the Activity Department with her creativeness. She enjoys trying different cuisines. She considers herself to be a
foodie.
Jessica started her career at The Reserve in 2021. Taking care of people is what she does best. While at work, she is constantly busy. She gives her residents her full attention, making each of them feel special. Jessica takes pride in servicing the residents to the best of her abilities. It is evident by the care she gives that she loves and adores her residents. Jessica, thank you for the great care you give our residents!

Celebrating the fathers at the Father's Day Luncheon was heartwarming. The ladies of The Reserve recited prayers, welcomes and poems, but the best part was the wonderful memories the families shared about their fathers. The families fellowshipped, reminisced, and enjoyed a nice lunch. The luncheon was perfect.

On National Tea Day, Alyssa from Select Rehabilitation took the opportunity to inform the residents about the importance of staying hydrated during the summer months. It is no secret that the summer heat in Pasadena is torturous. Alyssa also gave the residents very helpful hints on staying cool during these summer months.

Pauline Cooper,
May's Employee of the Month
Pauline was recently promoted from Resident Assistant to Medication Supervisor. Her dedication to the community is amazing and her compassion toward the residents is phenomenal. Pauline is known for giving the best showers. Residents actually request her services quite frequently. Pauline goes far beyond the scope of her job description. She has been a part of the community for almost eleven wonderful years.
Pauline is the mother of four children, Tionate, Preshus, Allison, and Henry. She is a fantastic cook and looks forward to her family cookouts. She also enjoys socializing and dancing.

One should always show homage to mom; however, on Mother's Day it should be intensified. The Mother's Day Brunch at The Reserve at Pasadena gave the perfect platform for families to give tribute to their moms. The gold and green decor in Assisted Living and the pink and blue decor in Memory Care set the ambience for our celebration of moms. Some of the mothers wore their stylish fascinators made in crafting class. It was a memorable event for all the families. Thank you to the many residents, families, friends, and agencies who donated their time and/or resources needed to make this a monumental event.
