Recognizing what the words "you have breast cancer" can feel like and acknowledging how difficult the mental strain is.

Each year on June 27th, National PTSD Awareness Day recognizes the effects post-traumatic stress has on the lives of those impacted by it. PTSD is most often thought of in situations such as living through war, a sexual or physical attack, abuse, or a serious accident.

Did you know that a breast cancer diagnosis and going through breast cancer treatment can also lead to experiencing PTSD?

Talk with your health care team about help for PTSD. They can help you find support services, including counseling and support groups in your community.
