Convalescent Aid Society, located in Pasadena, California, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is dedicated to improving the quality of life of our clients by providing the loan of medical equipment for in-home use. Convalescent Aid Society was founded in 1923 by seven Pasadena residents who were concerned about indigent people who were discharged from hospitals and who were unable to afford the various things one needs during convalescence at home. An earlier history of CAS describes the desire to "give help to people who fall through the cracks of assistance from other agencies, and to those who usually provide for their families and themselves, but who, because of illness, hardship or convalescence need some special assistance without regard for the scrutiny, rules and regulations that so many organizations require before help can be given."

Connecting Older Adults to Resource and Community Support

The Kensington Sierra Madre in partnership with Home Instead is proud to be a trusted source of knowledge about all aspects of aging. Join us for a vibrant outdoor event dedicated to showcasing local resources and services that support aging adults in leading healthy, connected, and enriched lives.

Explore vendor booths to discover wellness providers and services focused primarily on aging adults; and enjoy DJ-hosted live music. Get acquainted with peers and professionals who can support you throughout your entire aging journey.

Event Timeline:
9:00am - Event Opens
9:30am - Welcome from Local City Officials
10:00am - Fitness with The Kensington Life Enrichment Team
11:00am - Event Closes

This community-wide event is held in collaboration with the City of Sierra Madre Senior Commission, which will also host a yard sale onsite.
