What is our school nurse's pride, purpose, and passion? EDUCATION! On Monday, PISD school nurses and health clerks received continuing education on trends in artificial intelligence in healthcare and updates on pediatric diabetes management. Best part of the day was an escape room exercise that tied into our diabetes training. We love having fun with our team while learning together! ❤️ Big shout out to our Aspiring Nurse Administrators that created and presented our continuing education!

If you see this smiling face on your campus, give her a big "Happy Birthday" shout! Nurse Cipriani is our Itinerant Nurse for the district and she provides nursing care to some of our most medically fragile students. She also assists in training new school nurses and sometimes spends her Saturdays providing training to PISD staff and their families in CPR, AED, and First Aid skills. We are certainly proud to have her among the ranks. Happy birthday, Nurse Cip! 💙🧡

Walk for Sight - 2025! Our PE, Health & Wellness department rocks this event every single year. In partnership with the Pasadena Lions Club, we fundraise to support children who need vision healthcare assistance AND promote physical activity with families and the community.

To Parents of Pasadena ISD students:
We are informing you that Senate Bill 12 takes effect today, and school nurses may be making phone calls home starting this week if your child is seen in the clinic. This new legislation mandates that Texas schools obtain written and signed parental consent for routine school-based health-related services each school year. Parents have the right to withhold or decline consent for these services, which promote student safety, wellness, and readiness to learn. These routine services, provided by qualified school staff, school nurses, clinic aides, and athletic trainers, include illness or injury assessments, vision screenings, and restroom accidents, just to name a few. Our district will soon be sending out an official consent form for parents to complete and submit. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child's school for more information.

The Lions Club’s Walk for Sight is a family-friendly walk that supports community programs such as Health Services and PE, Health and Wellness in Pasadena ISD. The Walk For Sight walk will be on Thursday, September 25. Check-in begins at 3:45 and ends at 6:00. This event is co-sponsored through a partnership between the Pasadena Lions Club, Pasadena ISD P.E./Health and Wellness Department and Health Services.
