🍎 Fructose..bad, or good? Well, it depends! Whole fruits contain fructose, but they also pack a nutritional punch with vitamins and fiber.

If you're eating whole, unprocessed foods containing fructose, there's no need to fret. Fructose naturally occurs in many fruits and vegetables, which taste great and pack a punch of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fiber, and polyphenols.

Eliminating these foods due to their fructose content wouldn't be wise. The benefits far outweigh any potential downsides. The body handles moderate amounts of fructose just fine, with guidelines suggesting around 15-25 grams daily.

Most common fruits don't exceed single-digit fructose amounts, so enjoying several pieces of fruit daily is well within these guidelines. Staying away from a diet high in processed and refined carbohydrates helps you stay within the recommended limits. It all comes down to balance.

So, is fructose a friend or foe? Like many things in life, it's about moderation and context. Embrace the sweetness of natural fruits, and you'll likely find that fructose can be a delightful addition to a healthy diet. Leave your thoughts in the comments!

Most people fail because they try to change too much, too fast.
They think they need the perfect plan.
What they really need is to focus on the few habits that create the biggest impact.
That’s how health becomes more effective, more sustainable, and way less overwhelming.
If you feel like:👉 “I don’t know where to start”👉 “I start strong but can’t keep it up”
You probably don’t need more motivation. You need a better starting point.
Comment “FOUNDATIONS” and I’ll show you where to begin.

Wait, what? 35% of all adults in the U.S.-- about half of all Americans-- say they feel sleepy during the day anywhere from three to seven times a week. This doesn't have to be you! Taking steps to improve your sleep quality can be as simple as adding a few action steps to your day that will help improve your sleep hygiene, and therefor improve your sleep. I wrote a blog article all about it. Check it out!

I am so inspired by this client, who when we met, had been told by his doctor that if he "didn't start taking Mounjaro weight loss injections, he was going to die!" He made a personal choice not to go with the drugs, and instead made a commitment to learn healthier habits and behaviors.
With the help of the InBody data, we've been able to empower him with the quantitative data and the tools necessary to create the change he so badly needed.
He is doing great and well on his way to living in a healthy, happy body.
This proves once again that we have a lot more control over our health outcomes than we give ourselves credit for.
Be sure and read the part about how he could barely get himself to move, yet still tried moving a little bit each day, and how that lead to a huge reduction in body fat!
I hope this case study inspires you as much as it has inspired me.

It's Foodie Friday! Yeah!
Here is a healthier twist on pudding- and this one is totally plant based for all you vegans and strictly plant based eaters out there! 🤗
You can turn this into a higher protein, vegetarian option by using Skyr or Greek yogurt and dairy milk in place of the soy yogurt and soy milk. Or, use whatever your favorite milk or milk substitute is, for that matter. I personally love the "Good Karma" flax milk, because it delivers 5g of protein for serving, with healthy fats from flaxseeds.
Remember to make these recipes your own by experimenting and having fun in the kitchen. Healthy doesn't have to be hard!

Getting the results that you want from your body comes down to developing the skills needed to get the job done, and making those skills stick! One skill that I believe is essential to good health is the ability to move your body the way it was designed to move. If you struggle to get regular movement in your life, try giving some of these tips a try. Small consistent actions lead to regular practice, which leads to the skills you need to make it permanent and experience the change you want!

About

Transforming lives through healthier habits, I empower my clients to achieve their best health through nutrition and lifestyle. An effective nutrition plan can support many wellness objectives, like weight loss-management, increased energy and vitality, strength building, managing health conditions, and improved physical performance. I teach a practical, whole-food approach to achieving a sustainable, healthy-eating lifestyle. You will learn about the nutritional value of foods, and apply that knowledge to derive the greatest benefit from the foods you eat. Food is fuel for our bodies and if we consume the best fuel, we can expect to get more of what we want from our bodies, naturally!
