I got the paperback proof of my book today! It came out so nice! I love the size, the layout, everything looks great! I just need to go through it and make sure there are no printing errors. Once I sign off on it, we’ll be live on all the major online book retailers, like Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc. Yeah!

Some background on the book: About 2 1/2 years ago, I was riding my bike home from work, reflecting on my day of client sessions. At that moment, it occurred to me that there were A LOT of underlying problems, challenges, behavior patterns that many of my clients shared. In addition to that, there were also a lot of underlying tools and solutions that we’d developed over the years. That’s the cool thing about a “practice.” The more people you help, the more data you collect, and the more effective you can be at helping the next person.

Once this occured to me, I realized, “Hmmm..I think I can write a book based on all this experience.” And that is how the book started.

In the book, I combine some of my own personal journey, along with some client case stories, with practical tools for designing and maintaining a healthy life, without weird, silly diets, restrictions, and overwhelm...all based on health sciences, habit change psychology, and real experiences from thousands of coaching sessions and hundreds of clients who have created meaningful change in their health and their lives.

It's time for a Monday mindset check-in! So, how are you? How is your mindset today? Are things looking doom and gloom, or more like happy trails? It's helpful to always keep in mind that you have a lot of control over how you feel and how you respond to life's curveballs, if you can just remember to keep that mindset in check.
Here is a little game you can play with your mind this week. Anytime you feel frustrated, and like giving up on something, try stepping back and just get super curious about what it is that's frustrating you. Take a look at what that thing says about you, and why it matters to you. Then, use your observations to turn the situation around and make it work.
Or, if you decide it actually just isn't worth it, then letting it go is totally okay! Life is to busy to be wasting time and personal bandwidth on stuff that really doesn't serve us. I'm sure if you take a minute to observe, you'll be able to tell the difference.
You've totally got this! Go out and rock this week out. Yeah!

Do you ever wonder why healthy weight loss seems to be a “thing” that has to be all difficult and complicated? Here’s the thing: Based on my observation coaching hundreds of people in nutrition and weight loss, the only thing making the process complicated is us! Yep, us, and our own minds getting in the way. That’s because humans are complex, and changing your physiology involves the entire YOU to be balanced and on the right page.
By taking manageable steps to simply modify a lot of the things you already do, you can make the process more effortless, fun, and rewarding.
If you’ve been struggling to lose unwanted fat and weight lately, try some of these tips for a couple weeks and see how it goes. Try to avoid the temptation to go “all or nothing” and just start with what you can do consistently and successfully for a week (or even a day) at a time.

Nagging cravings and constant hunger feedback can really be a drag! Many of my clients who experience this feel bad about themselves because they think that they are just "undisciplined." 😣

In reality, it's a question of giving your body the right mix of nutrients and fiber, in just the right amounts. Once that is handled, the cravings and unhealthy eating behaviors can diminish greatly. As a matter of fact, almost all of our clients report increased satiety levels and reduction or even complete elimination of cravings as they work through the nutrition coaching process. This proves that overcoming cravings is TOTALLY WITHIN REACH and something you can control.

Wait, what? 35% of all adults in the U.S.-- about half of all Americans-- say they feel sleepy during the day anywhere from three to seven times a week. This doesn't have to be you! Taking steps to improve your sleep quality can be as simple as adding a few action steps to your day that will help improve your sleep hygiene, and therefor improve your sleep. You may have heard the saying: "If it isn't in your calendar, it isn't a priority." It's kind of true! Many of my clients have a lot of big ideas about living a healthier life, but in reality, they haven't prioritized the time needed to make it happen. Putting your own health and wellbeing first, while still allowing for life's obligations and commitments is a skill that requires regular practice and ongoing development. If you feel like you don't have the time to get to your healthy commitments, try experimenting with some of the tips in this helpful infographic! Just setting aside 10 minutes a day, and doing that consistently can be a simple way to start...and can yield surprisingly powerful results over time.
