Our team had a great time tabling at Encinita Elementary’s STEAMtopia event this week! 🔬✨

STEAMtopia is all about sparking curiosity and helping students explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and math through hands-on experiences. We loved connecting with students and families and sharing more about the programs and resources Foothill Family offers in the community.

We had an incredible time celebrating Black History Month at our Rooted in Rhythm line dancing event! 🖤✨

Families, community members, and staff came together to move, laugh, and celebrate the rich cultural traditions that bring us together. Events like this remind us how powerful community, culture, and joy can be in strengthening connections and uplifting families.

Last night at the South El Monte Senior Center for the Su***de Prevention Town Hall. Grateful for the opportunity to connect with community members, share resources, and continue important conversations about mental health and support.

We were also honored to receive a commendation from the County of Los Angeles recognizing our efforts in su***de prevention and community outreach. Moments like this remind us why this work matters and inspire us to keep showing up for our community.

For Evelyn, the best part about working at Foothill Family is being part of an organization that truly lives its mission of empowering families to achieve success. She values how that commitment shows up not only in the care provided to clients, but also in the growth and development of staff. Her advice to those just starting at Foothill Family?

Build and seek mentorship. With so much experience within the organization, Evelyn believes some of the most meaningful growth comes from learning alongside colleagues.
Evelyn stays motivated by seeing progress in both the families we serve and the staff around her. Watching others grow in their confidence and profession is something she finds incredibly rewarding.

Rooted in Rhythm was truly incredible. ✨💚🖤❤️💛

Today was a powerful reminder that movement is healing. When we come together in community to breathe, to move, to feel, something transformative happens. There is strength in rhythm, connection in shared space, and healing in simply allowing our bodies to move.

We are grateful to have hosted and partnered with Hope Now for this beautiful event and to witness such joy, presence, and connection in the room. Happy Black History Month!
