During Patient Experience Week, we’re taking a moment to share something many people don’t realize:

Hospice care is about so much more than end-of-life care. It’s about how every moment feels.

Hospice teams focus on the full patient experience—comfort, dignity, and quality of life. That means:

💬 Listening to what matters most to each patient
🩺 Expert management of pain and symptoms
🏡 Providing care wherever patients call home
🚚 Delivering medical equipment and supplies to patient homes
❤️ Supporting emotional, spiritual and psychosocial needs

In the latest edition of The Referral, we talk about how families rarely call hospice too early.

They often call too late.

Hospice of the Chesapeake’s Director of Access and Patient Experience Kylie Taylor, hears it more than almost anything else: “I wish we had called sooner.”

Earlier referrals make a real difference:

🤝 Caregivers feel prepared rather than overwhelmed

We were honored to be part of the grand opening of Arcadia of Davidsonville, a beautiful new family-owned assisted living and memory care community!

Our team, Diana Dickson and Abbey Ludeau, enjoyed connecting with attendees and raising awareness about the compassionate care Hospice of the Chesapeake provides. It was wonderful to see community members, local businesses and government officials come together to celebrate this exciting addition to the area.
