It’s easy to fall into the pattern of pushing through — telling ourselves we’ll rest, reset, or take care of ourselves after we get through the next thing.

But what if there isn’t a “next thing” that finally brings relief?
What if the work is learning to be here — in the middle of it?
To hold both the hard and the hopeful. To stop postponing peace.

Easier said than done.

That’s why practices like acupuncture, movement, and mindful care matter — they give your body and mind a place to slow down, reset, and reconnect in real time.
Whether it’s a quiet moment in treatment or a shared space like community acupuncture, what matters is having a way back to yourself.

🥚✨ Elevate Your Breakfast Game with Chia!

Want to transform your morning routine and poached eggs? This scrumptious breakfast is not only delicious but also packed with omega-3s, protein, and fiber!

I used leftover vegetables sautéed from last night’s dinner. Cooking your vegetables not only enhances their taste but also makes them easier to digest—a win-win! 🌿

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, raw veggies are considered cold and can demand a lot of digestive energy. So, let’s give our digestion a helping hand by cooking them!

My go-to veggie combo? Sautéed mushrooms, shallots, peppers, and kale. Serve this vibrant mix over a perfectly poached egg atop toasted sesame bread for an irresistible meal. 🌟

🌸 This photo of me and my daughter was taken seven years ago today.

It's a simple moment frozen in time, but it's etched in both of our memories—perhaps more prominently in mine now that she’s a teenager.

In that brief pause, we were taking it all in while trying to fit the most into our spring break vacation. What I remember the most is not the amusement park or the restaurants, but this moment we shared in nature. It reminds me that sometimes, it’s those simple, quiet moments that hold the most meaning, ones that could easily slip by unnoticed.

As she grows, I believe this memory will come to hold more significance for her too.

Let’s cherish those little moments with our loved ones and the beauty that surrounds us. 💚

🌱✨ Chia Seeds: A TCM Perspective on Nourishing Your Body! ✨🌱

Chia seeds are not just versatile for your meals; from a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) viewpoint, they are a powerful addition to your diet. These tiny seeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which can help reduce inflammation and promote overall wellness. They are also high in iron and polyphenols, supporting skin health and vitality by combatting oxidative stress.

In TCM, chia seeds are known to boost yin and nourish the blood—key elements in maintaining balance, particularly for women. This is vital at all ages, but even more so as we transition into perimenopause and menopause when yin and blood increasingly decline.

If you're looking for alternatives to the typical chia pudding or are not a fan of sweet dishes, there are many savory ways to incorporate chia into your meals.

Stay tuned! I’ll be sharing some delicious savory ideas to help you weave chia seeds into your diet effectively. Share some of the ways you do Chia, and let's explore the benefits together! 🍽️🌿

Embrace the beauty of balance! ✨The Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony was a beautiful reminder that harmony doesn’t come from sameness — it comes from balance.

In the natural world, balance is constant and dynamic. And in Traditional Chinese Medicine, that same rhythm lives within us. Yin + yang work together to support health — within our bodies and within our communities.

When we honor that balance, we thrive. ✨

Sighing isn’t a bad habit — it’s a built-in one.
When we sigh without realizing it, that’s the body taking care of itself.

A deep, deliberate sigh allows the diaphragm to gently massage the liver and its associated acupuncture channel — both thrive when they are stress-free and free-flowing.
And when the liver channel is circulating freely, we hold onto less stress.

So if you catch yourself sighing today, let it happen.
It’s good for you.

Our Story

Founded in 2007, Collaborative Care is a traditional Chinese medicine and natural fertility clinic in Chicago. Our focus on reproductive health and fertility is founded in a holistic approach combining acupuncture, Chinese herbs, nutritional guidance, emotional support and self-care techniques.

We support you wherever you are on your journey. As your providers, we not only address the physical reasons behind fertility challenges, but we also create the space to work through the emotional aspects of the journey, as well.

For women whose journey to a successful pregnancy has included multiple rounds of IVF, we have developed a highly effective holistic treatment regimen. We also work with women and couples trying to get pregnant naturally who want to enhance and optimize their health and fertility.

Our goal is to provide emotional and physical support to you while nurturing your reproductive health. We do this not only with Chinese medicine, nutritional guidance and acupuncture, but we provide guidance in other areas of your life in an effort to support you and your fertility!
