Village Birth

Village Birth Village Birth offers education, community, and support for all new and expecting parents. We are honored to be a part of your journey into parenthood!

Village Birth designed our childbirth classes to give you the information, skills, and confidence you need to have an empowering birth experience. No matter where (hospital, home, or birth center) or how (unmedicated, medicated, or Cesarean), we prepare you for your baby’s birthday and life with a newborn. Our goals are to help you understand the birth process, iron out your birth preferences and coping techniques, and learn when to let them go. We will help you develop confidence in yourself, your partner, and your care providers, so you feel prepared to welcome your baby. We also offer a variety of other classes to help you prepare for birth and life with a newborn including but not limited to: infant feeding, newborn care, CPR, infant massage, cloth diapering, baby sign language, and more. Village Birth understands the incredible importance of community during the transition to parenthood and the swirl of life with young children. We provide a variety of circles, groups, and events geared towards supporting you during this amazing and intense time. Some of our groups include Village Prenatals, our Fourth Trimester Support Circle, Babywearing Dance Party, Loss and Fertility Groups, and much more. Our registry of thoroughly vetted birth and postpartum doulas bring their hands and hearts to all new and growing families – holding space for your family’s unique experience and offering support, information, and comfort as you navigate the transition into parenthood. Come mix and mingle with some of our amazing doulas at our Meet the Doula Night event, or sign up for our registry online - both free services!

What are you enjoying outside of motherhood? Something fulfilling, meaningful, or even frivolous. Today I heard postpartum moms reclaiming their identities with dancing, Pilates, tennis, fashion, and work. Mothers are multifaceted, and it’s so important to pour yourself into the practices that make you a whole a person. Your needs, joy, and ambitions are as important as ever. 📸 by + 🖼️ by

Hi, Summer Bumps! We are thinking about you. Here are some tips for staying comfy in this heat.

Watermelon is both hydrating and diuretic. While its high water content makes it an excellent source of hydration, it also helps increase urine flow, acting as a natural diuretic.

Head to the beach! Point Dume last weekend and it was 60 degrees all day!

Raise your feet, and do simple foot and ankle exercises. I like to spell the full alphabet with my feet to increase blood flow and reduce swelling.

Never underestimate the power of resting in an air conditioned space. Gather with friends or lay down for a Netflix binge. It won’t be long when you’ll be subject to toddler content, so enjoy your movie-freedom now 🙂 📸 by

Our Story

Village Birth has a long history of supporting new and expecting families throughout Los Angeles. Born as Two Doulas Birth in 2012, we began by creating a childbirth education class with the information, tools, and techniques we found that were helpful for our clients. As working doulas with our finger on the pulse of what’s happening in the Los Angeles birth world, we’ve always had a unique and privileged perspective to offer all of our students and clients.

Over the years we’ve added new educators and expanded our network, our offerings, and our footprint – opening up a space of our own in Eagle Rock. The opportunity to have our own space – to hold space – for all people on their unique journeys into parenthood is something we are thrilled to bring to the community. We are not meant to navigate this wild ride alone – cliches exist for a reason – it takes a village. We are honored to welcome you into ours!
