The SoCal Wellness Summit is next week, and this year and I will be talking about all the hot topics:

🌸 Hormones
🌸 Nutrition
🌸 and GLP-1s!

Kasey Potts will be moderating again — this post is from the wonderful discussion she hosted last year. One thing we talked about that I think is so important to remember: estrogen is not poison. It plays a vital role in our bodies.

What questions would you like us to answer about hormones, nutrition, or GLP-1s?! Drop them below so we can start the conversation early ⬇️

Are you struggling with relentless fatigue, stubborn weight gain, digestive discomfort, or mood swings that seem to come out of nowhere?

You’re not alone. And more importantly, you’re not imagining it.

So many women are told their symptoms are just part of getting older or that everything “looks normal.” But when your body feels off, there is always a reason.

As a functional medicine doctor, I prioritize taking the time to understand your full health story and uncover the root causes behind what you’re experiencing. What I am NOT doing is simply managing your symptoms!

If you’re ready to move beyond temporary fixes and start addressing the root cause of your symptoms, the answer is here. 🤍

TWO weeks until the SoCal Wellness Summit 🤍

Last year, I had such a meaningful day connecting with women who are hungry for real answers, thoughtful conversations, and a better way to approach their health. The energy in the room was incredible!

I’m so looking forward to being back again this year to continue the conversation around root-cause, whole-body women’s wellness.

If you could go and ask one question, what would it be? 🎤

I can’t wait! ✨🌸

I recently came across a study evaluating women for breast cancer risk and placing those deemed “high risk” on an estrogen blocker for five years.

But HOW we approach prevention is so important.

Estrogen blockers can trigger significant menopausal symptoms—hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, low libido, mood changes, anxiety, bone density loss…

and yet we’re often not asking a deeper question:

❓ Why is the risk elevated in the first place?

Functional medicine isn’t about ignoring conventional tools, it’s about asking whether we’ve fully explored root causes before suppressing a system for five years.

Women deserve informed, individualized conversations.

🚫Not fear-based medicine.
🚫Not one-size-fits-all prevention.

Prevention should support your WHOLE body. 💯

I started out in conventional medicine and very quickly realized it was mostly symptom management.

Antibiotics. Steroids. Prescription after prescription.

And I remember thinking… if this is how I’m going to practice medicine, I don’t want to do it.

Discovering preventive medicine changed everything for me! It was all about preventing disease, reversing disease, and helping patients get off medications instead of adding more. 🤯

That’s when I knew there had to be a better way.

Have you ever felt like your healthcare was managing symptoms but not addressing the root cause? 💬

What is functional medicine? And how is it difference from conventional care?

At its core, functional medicine takes the time to understand YOU, not just your symptoms. It’s about finding the root cause of your health concerns and creating a personalized plan to help you feel your best.

So many women sit in my office and say the same thing:

“My labs are normal… but I don’t feel normal.”

Here’s the truth: normal reference ranges are not the same as optimal hormone levels.

You can have:
⚡️ anxiety
⚡️ brain fog
⚡️ low energy
⚡️ sleep issues
⚡️ weight gain
⚡️ low libido

… and still be told everything looks “fine.”

If you’ve been told your labs are normal but you know something is off, I urge you to trust that feeling. 🤍

Did you catch the news?! I’m so excited to be heading back to the Wellness Summit this year! 🌸

Last year was such an incredible opportunity to share what women truly need to know about their health and to connect with women in so many different stages of life. I can’t wait to see what this year brings.

Will I see you there?

One of the easiest ways I take care of myself is by getting outside.

I take my dog on a 2–3 mile walk most days. Sunlight, fresh air, movement, and a little quiet time to think.

We talk a lot about biohacking and the newest wellness trends, but I think it’s important not to overlook the free tools we already have. Nature, light, and movement are powerful regulators of our hormones, nervous system, and overall well-being.

I loved talking about this and so much more on The Doctor Mom Podcast. This episode is filled with practical wisdom that helps women feel informed, capable, and confident in every season of life.

Comment “nature” and I’ll send you the link to listen to the full episode. 🌿
