Some days I feel incredibly fortunate to be in a profession that changes lives. A college student who'd been battling chronic headaches for years came to me, having seen multiple physicians who claimed nothing was wrong. I diagnosed him with accommodative infacility, a functional vision problem, and fitted him with bifocal contact lenses. The instant relief from his headaches brought out the tears, and he asked to hug me. Moments like these remind me why I do what I do. Next up is vision therapy to help him for good.
