This award honors leaders who advance equity in orthopaedic care and work to address health care disparities through research, innovation, service, and leadership.

Dr. P**n, a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at Shriners Children’s Southern California, exemplifies these values through her dedication to culturally responsive care, inclusion, education, and clinical and academic excellence. Her work — spanning early-onset scoliosis, spinal deformity, limb deformity, and clubfoot — is matched by her national leadership and service, including board roles with both JRGOS and POSNA.

Her career reflects a deep commitment to improving care for all children and strengthening our field through purpose-driven leadership.

Join us in congratulating Ozgur Dede, M.D., in his appointment as the new chief of staff at Shriners Children’s Southern California, effective January 2, 2026.

Dr. Dede served as associate medical director of Shriners Children’s Erie from 2016 to 2021 and has been chief of staff there since 2023. His orthopedic specialties include general pediatric orthopedics, neuromuscular disease, spine deformity, and foot and hip deformity in newborns and children.

“I am looking forward to continuing my tenure with Shriners Children’s and to serving our children and their families in Southern California,” Dr. Dede said.

Ladies of the Oriental Shrine and the Al Malaikah Shrine jazz band brought the holiday spirit to the medical center with music and ornament making. Our kids enjoyed the celebration. Thank you so much! 🎅🏽🎶
