Happy Saturday! Do you have weekend plans? We’re big fans of day hikes on the weekends. Getting out in nature is an excellent way to clear your head, enjoy the beauty of nature, and it’s great exercise. What better way to spend quality time with family, friends, and of course, your pup! That being said, we believe in being prepared because unexpected things can occur on a day hike. Better safe than sorry!

Backpack Essentials for Day Hikes:

▪️Navigation – such as a map, compass, GPS device, personal locator beacon, altimeter

▪️Illumination – flashlight, extra batteries

▪️Sun Protection – sunglasses, sunscreen, protective clothing, and hat

▪️First Aid Kit – including Zombie products for lip protection and wound care, bug repellent

▪️Multipurpose Tool – such as Swiss Army knife

▪️Extra Food and Water – don’t forget to pack food, water, and a small lightweight bowl for your pup!

▪️Extra Clothing – socks and sufficient layers of clothing in case of unexpected weather
