Today we were honored to welcome The Guide Dog Foundation to our community for a fascinating and educational lecture celebrating National Seeing Eye Day! Residents learned about the history of the foundation, the incredible training process, and the life-changing impact guide dogs have on individuals with visual impairments. The highlight of the day? A very special visit from Guide Dog Ambassador, Tianna, who stole everyone’s hearts and brought plenty of smiles! Residents headed to Aspen for an Après Ski afternoon! While enjoying live entertainment, residents also enjoyed warm bowls of clam chowder, rhot cocoa, melty grilled cheese, and a a fresh hot waffle cabin. It was the perfect way to relax and “unwind après ski”, no slopes or airfare required! One year ago today, our community pup joined our Village Walk family. Unsure of how she would fit in and adjust, Lola amazed us from day one as she blended in seamlessly. Since then, Lola has been brightening the days of our residents, staff, and visitors with her loving presence and wagging tail. As a certified Emotional Support Animal, Lola has a special gift for knowing just what to do to bring comfort, smiles, and joy to those around her. Elvis has left the building… and made his way to us! Today we celebrated Elvis Presley’s birthday in true rock-and-roll style! Our residents were all shook up enjoying a live Elvis impersonator, singing along to classic hits. The celebration was topped off with one of Elvis’s favorites, peanut butter & banana afternoon treats that had everyone smiling.
