The Military Health System Research Symposium (MHSRS)—the Department of Defense’s premier scientific meeting focused on military medical research—is taking place this week in Kissimmee, Florida.
Hosted annually, MHSRS brings together military, academic, and industry experts to share the latest advances in combat casualty care, operational medicine, and military health readiness. It’s where science meets the front lines—ensuring that today’s research leads to tomorrow’s battlefield survival and medical innovation.

The 2025 Military Health System Research Symposium kicked off this week with a powerful keynote address from Dr. Stephen Ferrara, acting assistant secretary of defense for health affairs and a 1995 graduate of the Uniformed Services University’s School of Medicine.
