OUR HISTORY
Telford Beef began as a dream and goal of our father and grandfather Mike Telford. He has always had a love for agriculture and black angus cattle. Back in 1962 when he was in the 9th grade he purchased 4 black angus heifers from his Uncle, which were the beginnings of our current herd. The goal was to expand and produce a quality herd of cattle that would make excellent beef.
In 1980 he began selling his yearling bull calves as beef to his neighbors and family using our local butchers to provide custom cutting and packaging. He finished them on feed grown on his own farm helping to provide meat that was very lean, very tender and tasted amazing. We have continued this tradition ever since!
Keeping the original goals in mind we use good genetics, sound breeding, excellent nutrition programs and proper handling practices. We raise our cattle in a natural environment and do not use growth hormones or added stimulants. Grass fed and grain finished, our animals are raised with their mamas on summer pasture and rangeland and at weaning are fed and finished on a high quality feed ration. Our meat is natural, local, healthy, lean, and fresh from our farm to you. We have a deep rooted love for cattle and agriculture and plan to continue our traditions to provide quality, lean delicious meat that is affordable for families for generations to come!
