Myth for the Day:

It is not necessary to go to the Gynecologist every year.

One of the leading women’s health myths is that you do not need to see an OB-GYN once a year; this is not true! Even though you may not need a pap smear every year, your OB-GYN will perform a breast and pelvic exam. Even if you do not notice any symptoms or women’s health issues, your gynecologist will test everything from blood pressure to osteoporosis. Your yearly visit is a great opportunity to discuss any concerns you have about your body, including your sexual and reproductive health.
