Merry Christmas from our staff to all of our wonderful patients and eyeglass clientele. Our office will be closing at the end of the day on Dec. 23rd. We will reopen on Jan. 2nd. Thanks to all of you for a wonderful 2024.

We always wear white at the beach year around…. Notice the glare on the lenses on the round frame. Always add anti-reflective coating to your lenses to reduce the glare. You can see the difference on the lenses on the right with the non-glare coating.

About Dr. Smith

Dr. Smith is a Tar Heel, born and raised a farmer's son in the small town if Fairmont, North Carolina. He graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1984 with a bachelors degree in Biology.

Following a 4-year Professional Therapeutic Optometric Program, Dr. Smith received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 1988.

Dr. Smith's graduate externships were performed at the Memphis State University Eye Center and the Memphis Contact Lens Center. His training in these clinical settings emphasized advanced services in the areas of primary therapeutic eye care and specialty contact lens fittings.

Following his graduation Dr. Smith started his optometric career as the primary staff doctor at Ocean Optics in Myrtle Beach in 1988. With Ocean Optics subsequent growth into 3 locations Dr. Smith was soon serving the entire Grand Strand from Surfside Beach to North Myrtle Beach until his departure in 1999.
