The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) is issuing an overdose spike alert for increased drug overdose activity in East Greenwich, Exeter, Hopkinton, Richmond, and West Greenwich (Region 10). From May 2 to May 8, 2025, Region 10 met its weekly overdose threshold, with the towns of Exeter and Hopkinton most impacted. Illicit fentanyl continues to dominate the drug supply and has been detected in substances such as co***ne, crack co***ne, methamphetamine, and counterfeit pills.
