Here is a letter that I just sent to Kevin's Page. I could only put it as a comment, because he has never agreed to accept my request to be his Friend. I is a waste of my time to write it, but it does make me feel better. It is the kind of letter that you can write which you never plan to send, but his suggesiton that I sould kill myself is really somehting that he said, and us is digusting no matter how he was teretd by me or his family.
I have known Kevin Lima since he was twelve years old. I met him when he was performing a puppet show on a Pawtucket playground. I had just performed a puppet show for which I had been paid. My company was The Puppet Workshop. The characters of Kevin’s puppet show were the same characters of my show: Punch, Judy, Ribbit the Frog, and others. I was very surprised to see them. I learned late that Kevin had made the puppets with his Grandmother. Since the Puppet Worshop was a non-profit educational organization, Kevin could receive Community Action funds to work the company. He worked with me for seven years. In those years, Kevin was living on welfare. His sister had had some trouble with, he was one of my employees.
I am writing to all of you, because many of you have been shunned by Kevin. I can remember when he married Brenda, he told me that he had decided to shun a friend who was helping him on a movie project. He was living on welfare. One of his sisters hurt herself with drugs in high school, and his father was a he**in addict. Kevin’s mother did the best that she could. Kevin told to me that boyfriends had abused her, and Kevin was as well.
Why do I care about Kevin’s habit of shunning people. The Puppet Workshop never made a lot of money, my wife and I had trouble keeping it going for twenty-four years. You can see Puppet Workshop work at marcwkohler.com.
I am an abuse victim. My father was a pe*****le. He abused me, and he brought me along to three murders that he committed. I have had years of financial troubles. When I lost my job in 1993, Kevin loaned me $1,500. I paid him back ten years later, and Kevin made it clear that he wanted to cash the check. He didn’t, but for the next thirty years, he promised tht he would help me, but he never did. In one of his last emails to me, he asked me to kill myself, so I would not bother him anymore.
Viola Davis has helped the city of Central Falls, RI, with thousands of dollars for educational programs. Kevin was born in Pawtucket. I have asked many people if he ever donated anything to Pawtucket, and I have heard that he has given nothing. In 1907, The Rhode Island Hall of Fame made Kevin the leading recipient of being a member of the Hall. He arranged for Disney to donate $500 to the Hall, and we gave them a full page add. We did get paid for over a year.
I do not think that Kevin Lima is ever going to make amends for the way that he treated you and me. His childhood was filled with all kinds of abuse, so he thinks that his shunning us is justified. In Kevin’s case, I can say that he had never met me or received my tutoring, he would definite not be where he is.
Anyone who would suggest that another person should commit su***de is unworthy of any partaking in civil society.
