Today we mourn the loss of our friend, colleague, and disability champion, Judith Heumann. Judy was a lifelong disability advocate, often referred to as the mother of the disability rights movement. She was a wheelchair user most of her life and rejected cliches about disability being a tragic experience, saying, "Disability only becomes a tragedy for me when society fails to provide the things we need to lead our lives––job opportunities or barrier-free buildings, for example. It is not a tragedy to me that I'm living in a wheelchair.”

💔our hearts are broken. So many of us are sad to share the news that Adrian Hall, Founding Director of Trinity Rep passed away this weekend.

Adrian led Trinity Rep from its first show in 1964. Under his leadership, Trinity launched ‘Project Discovery’ that introduced RI’s students to brilliant, relevant theater & a larger creative world that changed our lives.

Thanks to Adrian all our lives became larger & more colorful: “We mourn the loss of the person who not only made our theater what it is today, but who was a human being of unbound creativity and courage. Our hearts are with those who knew and worked with Adrian over the years.” We were blessed !
