Thank you to all of our fabulous friends, and volunteers for all of their help—an amazing crew! And thank you to farmer Dave, and his son for providing us with 364 bales of hay from our field—the horses will be well fed throughout the Winter months!

Our precious senior draft horse Sam has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge today, and our hearts are broken.
Sam was a Gentle Giant who was the perfect therapy horse, and made a huge impact on everyone that Sam met—Sam had an equine presence like no other!
The only history that we know of Sam—was that Sam pulled a carriage for years at a hotel in Vermont, and was then adopted by our friend Joyce, who took great care of Sam, and loved him very much before he joined the herd at Field of Dreams Therapy Farm. From there our good friends and barn partners Jodie and Beth took over his care—Sam was spoiled rotten with tons of attention, and love—Sam loved his spa days! We are so glad that Sam landed with us for his retirement!
Sam was old, but Sam was happy!
Sam had been struggling for the past three days, and the equine vet had been out to treat him—Sam had melanoma which the vet had reported had spread internally.
Unfortunately, we found Sam down in his stall this morning, and he could not get up, therefore we knew it was time for Sam to rest!
We would like to thank the Paxton, Massachusetts Fire Department, along with the District 8 Technical Rescue Team who assisted in removing Sam from his stall after crossing the Rainbow Bridge—we are forever grateful!
