🌈 National LGBT Health Awareness Week 🌈

This week, CRCC proudly recognizes the importance of mental health in the LGBTQ+ community.

LGBTQ+ individuals often face unique stressors—discrimination, stigma, isolation, and rejection—that can deeply impact mental well‑being. At CRCC, we believe that affirming, trauma‑informed mental health support is essential to healing and thriving.

🧠💛 This week, we honor and uplift LGBTQ+ mental health by:
• Providing safe, inclusive spaces for survivors of all identities
• Offering compassionate, trauma‑informed counseling and advocacy
• Educating our community on the importance of mental health equity
• Standing against stigma and supporting resilience and empowerment
Everyone deserves to feel supported, affirmed, and seen.

CRCC is here for you — this week and every week. 🌟

Being LGBTQ+ isn’t a mental illness. However, many LGBTQ+ people experience mental health struggles linked to societal stigma, discrimination, and denial of their civil and human rights.

🥗 March is National Nutrition Month!
This year’s theme, “Discover the Power of Nutrition,” highlights how the food we eat directly supports both our physical and mental well‑being.

Good nutrition doesn’t just fuel the body — it also plays a meaningful role in:
• Mood regulation and emotional balance
• Cognitive performance and mental clarity
• Energy levels and stress resilience
• Overall brain health and focus

This month is the perfect time to build small habits that support a healthier mind and body, like:
🥦 Adding colorful fruits and vegetables
💧 Staying hydrated for improved memory and focus
🍽️ Sharing meals with others — social connection supports mental health too

At CRCC, we’re committed to promoting whole-person wellness. Food is more than nourishment — it’s a powerful tool for supporting emotional well‑being and lifelong health.

The foods we eat affect our mental health. Current evidence supports that diet has a role in psychological health.

💙 March is National Traumatic Brain Injury Awareness Month
Every 9 seconds, someone in the U.S. sustains a traumatic brain injury, and 5.3 million Americans live with a TBI-related disability.
TBIs can result from falls, motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, and more. Survivors often face long‑term physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges — and each injury is unique.

🧠 This Month, We Focus On:
Awareness & Prevention
Reducing Stigma around “invisible” injuries
Supporting Survivors & Families
Sharing resources and education

💚 How You Can Show Support:
Wear blue or green to spark conversations
Share facts and reliable resources
Offer encouragement to survivors and caregivers
Participate in awareness events or workshops

At CRCC, we’re here to support individuals and families affected by traumatic brain injury with care, resources, and community connection.

😴 Happy Sleep Awareness Week!

March 8–14, 2026

At Community Resource & Counseling Center, we’re joining the National Sleep Foundation in recognizing Sleep Awareness Week, an annual campaign that highlights just how essential good sleep is for our health and well‑being.

Each year, this week begins alongside the start of Daylight Saving Time, reminding us how even losing one hour of sleep affects our bodies, mood, focus, and daily functioning. It’s the perfect moment to check in with ourselves and recommit to healthy sleep habits.

💤 Why Sleep Matters
The National Sleep Foundation emphasizes that quality sleep supports:
• Mental and emotional resilience
• Physical health and immune function
• Cognitive performance, memory, and problem‑solving
• Overall well‑being and safety — insufficient sleep can increase accident risk and impair reaction time

🌙 Simple Ways to Improve Your Sleep This Week
Create a calming bedtime routine
Limit screens before bed
Keep a consistent sleep schedule
Make your sleep environment quiet, cool, and comfortable
Reach out for help if sleep difficulties are impacting your daily life

💙 CRCC Is Here for You
Sleep plays a powerful role in mental health. If you or someone you love is struggling with restlessness, stress, anxiety, or disrupted sleep, our team is here to support your wellness journey.

Let’s make this week a reminder to prioritize rest — because better sleep means a healthier, happier you.

💚Today is World Teen Mental Wellness Day 💚
— a day dedicated to breaking stigma, opening conversations, and reminding teens that their mental health truly matters.

Observed every March 2, this day encourages open dialogue, emotional support, and awareness of the challenges teens face — from academic pressure to social media stress.

At CRCC, we’re committed to creating safe, judgment‑free spaces where teens can talk, be heard, and access the support they deserve. Teens today face rising levels of stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm, and open conversations are one of the most powerful tools we have.

💬 How you can support a teen today:
• Ask how they’re really feeling
• Listen without judgment
• Encourage self‑care and healthy routines
• Remind them they don’t have to face things alone
• Share local mental health resources and support options

🟢 Your mind matters. Your feelings matter. You matter.

Let’s continue working together to ensure every teen feels seen, supported, and valued.
