Is it Ego self-defense? When deciding which self-defense system to learn, some people have the idea, "I want to learn the most deadly system." Or, once they take their first class, they can tell people, "I'm learning x-system, it is the best, most lethal." These systems are sometimes greatly advertised as such. I have two points; first, there is no such thing as, "the best." It always comes down to the student and how hard they train. The second point, that no one seems to talk about; are you really mentally prepared to take a human life from a simple road rage push and shove because someone may just be having a bad day, or going through problems at home? Are you prepared to see how the human body responds after a lethal blow from you? They don't just fall down like in the movies. Think about this, if you "are" learning a so-called lethal system, and you use it on someone attacking you, it will be you that's responsible, not your instructor, certainly not the attacker. You went beyond just protecting yourself, and used a lethal move, now you face the court system to determine if you continue to enjoy a life of freedom. Learning a so-called lethal system is not for bar fights, or to prove a point because someone bumped into you on purpose. It has one purpose that may never come in most peoples lifetime. The smartest system anyone can learn with very little practice; don't go to places where violence may be expected, don't walk alone late at night, always be aware of your surroundings don't have your head glued down on your phone as you walk to your car. Keep your car doors and home locked at all times, immediately, as you go inside. Don't sit in your car with windows down while on your phone...awareness!
