Aloha from Harriet and Ralph Kaplan Estates! Last week’s Luau Day was full of tropical fun and island vibes! Residents learned two hula chair dances, sang festive songs, and even competed in a sandcastle building contest. We topped it all off with sweet snacks like juicy pineapple and refreshing Hawaiian Punch. Mahalo to everyone who helped make the day so special!

Big congratulations to Sally Little, CDM, CFPP, Director of Dining Services at Chelsea Jewish Lifecare, for receiving the prestigious 2025 Dining Distinction Award from the Association of Nutrition & Food Service Professionals. The award was presented at the Annual Conference & Expo in Bloomington, MN.

Sally’s passion, creativity, and unwavering commitment to our residents’ health and happiness is unmatched. From crafting delicious, nutritious meals to leading an incredible team, she truly makes dining an experience to enjoy every day. We’re so proud of this well-deserved national recognition!

Hands-on holiday fun at Brudnick Center for Living! To celebrate the 4th of July, our residents got creative with patriotic crafts—making a vibrant banner using their handprints and designing festive flags to display throughout the building. Our Memory Care residents even made red, white, and blue T-shirts featuring their own handprints!

It was a joyful day full of color, creativity, and community spirit.

After a sudden stroke changed the course of his life, Mark—an author, financial planner, and avid golfer—faced incredible challenges. But with determination, expert care, and the support of our dedicated team, he’s made remarkable strides in recovery.

From relearning how to walk and talk to regaining his signature charm and wit, Mark’s story is a powerful reminder of what’s possible with perseverance and compassionate care.

Bingo fun with Brownie Troop 77643! We had a blast welcoming these energetic young visitors to Brudnick Center for Living for an afternoon of bingo and big smiles. The residents loved the company—and a few even scored some winning cards!

Kaplan Estates residents had a home run of a day at Fraser Field, cheering on the Northshore Navigators as they faced off against the Sanford Mainers. The weather was perfect, spirits were high, and the game was full of fun surprises—one resident even caught a foul ball!

We also had the chance to meet Chomp the ‘Gator, the Navigators' lovable mascot. A big thank you to activity assistant Laurie Faria for organizing the outing and accompanying our residents, and to the Northshore Navigators for generously providing complimentary tickets.

Today, residents from Kaplan Estates and the Brudnick Center for Living celebrated our annual Spring Fling at the beautiful Danversport Yacht Club! We enjoyed a delicious three-course meal, followed by lively entertainment from Allen LaBella, who had us singing and dancing the afternoon away. The view was spectacular, the company even better—and we’re already counting down to next year!

Our Legacy Lifecare VNA Outdoor Horticulture Club had a wonderful planting event in the Traditional Garden at Kaplan Estates yesterday! Residents, staff, and even some family members rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty—creating something beautiful together.

Special thanks to Jennifer Ferringo from LLVNA and Laurie Faria from Kaplan Estates for leading the way. While we weren’t able to photograph everyone, we’re so grateful for all who joined in the fun. We hope you enjoy these photos as much as we enjoyed the day!

Our residents had a fabulous time decorating straw hats with vibrant flowers and butterflies—just in time to beat the summer heat in style. After the crafting fun, we headed outside for a sunny photo shoot to show off their beautiful creations.
