The resident herd has returned to graze at ‘Nara of New England’ Healing Sanctuary and Retreat Center. Today, 4 deer were there just outside our meditation room, enhancing the sense of ‘peace and calm.’

Soon we will be learning Reiki and sharing ‘Aloha Spirit’ with our Teacher, Hyakuten-sensei in the beautiful ‘garden island’ of Kauai. Kauai is also the birthplace of Hawayo Takata-sensei, who is credited with bringing Reiki to the West. A true ‘East meets West’ Reiki training and experience will be taking place in, Hawaii.

Heartfelt gratitude to all those making this trip, coming from Kyoto Japan, Australia, Canada and across the US. 🙏❤️

Today commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the passing of Usui Mikao Sensei, Founder of Usui Reiki Ryoho, the Japanese Healing Art/Method. We are grateful for his teachings, and the teachings of those who followed in his lineage.

This seems an especially auspicious year for our Komyo ReikiDo Shinpiden (Teacher) Training with Hyakuten Sensei in Kauai Hawaii, offered for the 1st-time in Hawaii, where the 'seeds' for Usui Reiki Ryoho were 1st planted by Hawayo Takata. 🙏

Receiving a Reiki Reiju from Hyakuten-sensei is a very special experience. I have received multiple Reiju from Sensei, during his classes, at his Reiki Shares in Kyoto (2011 and 2023), and spontaneously when hiking Kurama-yama with him in 2011, Also on a mountain in Vermont, which we visited after his Boston MA Shinpiden Training, in 2014. Each time, a profound and memorable experience.

Every time I am with Hyakuten-sensei, whether in an on-line refresher or in-person training receiving Reiju from him, my practice is enhanced, evidenced by the feedback from clients/patients/students "feeling more," "deeper" in the experience, as well as the results. Sensei teaches that "receiving Reiju as often as possible, is one of the ways to raise/increase our Reiki energy."

I recently attended Sensei's on-line 'Reiju (attunement/initiation) Review,' a refresher class with Inamoto Hyakuten-sensei. Always learning something new, whenever I am with him.

Note: Reiju is offered 'in-person only' in the Komyo ReikiDo lineage as well as in the Reiki Alliance lineage, honoring Tradition.

I encourage any Reiki Master, Reiki/Teacher, Reiki Shihan to take this opportunity when it arises, to experience Reiju direct from Hyakuten-sensei. He will be teaching in Kauai Hawaii this month, Italy in May and Kyoto in June.

Soon, I will be attending my 17th Shinpiden (Teacher) Training with Hyakuten-sensei in Kauai Hawaii, the birthplace of Hawayo Takata-sensei. Takata-sensei is credited with bringing Usui Reiki Ryoho to the West and for nurturing and 'spreading the seed' for Reiki practice world-wide. Takata's granddaughter, Phyllis Furumoto carried on Takata's lineage as GrandMaster of the Reiki Alliance, teaching world-wide. While in Kauai, Hyakuten-sensei will be honoring his dear friend on the 7th Anniversary of her transition, March 31 in a special (Nana-kaiki) Buddhist Ceremony.

Always learning …

Last night I attended an online refresher with Hyakuten Sensei - Reiju Review

Sensei reinforced that, in the Komyo ReikiDo Reiki System, “Reiju is meant to be offered only in-person, when face-to-face, sharing the same energy field, with touch.” Following the Japanese traditions of Usui Reiki Ryoho.

Reiki Ryoho is both a therapeutic practice and a spiritual to promote one’s inner growth, peace and harmony.

Sensei promotes Reiki Ryoho in our daily lives for health, happiness and peace of the world. 平和 (heiwa)

Tomorrow I will be practicing Reiki on-line with my Reiki teacher, Inamoto Hyakuten-sensei. I am so grateful to have this ongoing opportunity. Wehave an opportunity to offer and receive Reiki in community, ask Sensei questions about our practice, and hear his life ‘wisdom’ statements.

As a Reiki teacher, it is very important to offer regular practice venue for students, for their ongoing growth and development in their practice.

Ever since I began teaching Reiki in 2001, I have offered Reiki Clinics/Reiki Shares as practice venue for my students as well as a way for people to experience Reiki ‘by donation.’  First weekly, at Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester.  Then, monthly in Manchester-by-the-sea MA.

Our monthly Reiki Clinics/Reiki Shares continue at our peaceful, private retreat center North of Boston.
