To Phyllis, with love … ❤️

Yesterday, August 22 was Phyllis Furumoto’s birthday. The Granddaughter of Hawayo Takata-sensei, Phyllis continued her grandmother’s legacy and brought so much to so many. She is greatly missed.

December 2013 I was blessed with meeting Phyllis and spending a portion of 5 days with her. In this time, I offered her and 12 Reiki Masters from Almaty, Kazakhstan and her Russian interpreter a tour of Cape Ann, MA, held a meeting with her and local Reiki Masters at my office, was interviewed for her Radio talk show about my work with Reiki in hospitals, dined at local restaurants, walked local beaches, enjoying priceless time and conversation with this Reiki legend; her legend large in life, as well as in death.

I had hoped to host an event with Phyllis and Hyakuten-sensei. At one point, she had mentioned, “Maybe 2019.” Sadly, that year she passed.

Hyakuten Inamoto-Sensei is honoring his dear friend, March 31st 2026 with a special Nana-kaiki on the ‘Garden Isle’ of Hawaii, commemorating the 7th Anniversary of her transition.

Practicing and Teaching Reiki Ryoho is a JOY. Next Shoden Level 1 Reiki training will be Sept 27 and 28 Welcome Home Riding Center, Greene Maine.

A Reiki Share will be held there on Sunday from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm.

One of the aspects which I love is the 'uniqueness' of each session. After 28 years of practice and 24 years of teaching, I still hear new expressions of people's experiences with reiki. A fascinating practice.

Some expressions include: "warmth," "tingling," "pulsing," a sense of floating," "weightlessness," "expansiveness," "buzzing" and more.

After sessions reporting "more relaxed than ever," "relieved," "more comfortable," "calmer," "less prone to worry," "more hopeful."

Level 1 Shoden Reiki Training focuses on '"Self-Reiki for Self-Care.'

Communing with nature offers physical, mental, emotionsl and spiritual health benefits.

Visitors at our ‘Sanctuary and Healing Retreat Center’ have the opportunity to see rabbit, deer, chipmunk, squirrel and lately, woodchuck. A large variety of birdsong fills the air.

As you drive onto the property, look for deer in the field.

Self-care is Not Self-ish. In fact, it is highly altruistic as self-care allows you to have more energy when you are there for others.

Celebrate YOU and Focus on YOUR Good Healthy, with Self-care -

3. Dance and sing
4. Breathe & recenter
5. Laugh
6. Start a vision board
7. Enjoy a healthy meal
8. Enjoy a spa/wellness session
9. Read a book/watch a movie
10. Enjoy spending time in Nature

Note: We are off this week, focused on self-care, so that we will be better able to assist you in your self-care goals. Daily self-Reiki and meditation are our go-to's, but days off are also necessary to relax and renews. 😊 We will be back in the office next week.

Thank you to all who attended Sunday July 6th Reiki Share, one of our Dream Team 2025 fundraisers for Reid’s Ride and the Reid R. Sacco AYA (Adolescent and Young Adult) Cancer Alliance. Thank you for your donations!

Reiki offers ‘peace, comfort and calm,’ especially for those in the oncology setting.

The ‘presence’ and ‘positive energy’ of the group attending the Reiki Share was very much in line with that of Gene and Lorraine Sacco and the the Sacco family’s initiative.

A legacy born of loss and LOVE, in memory of their son Reid who died of Sarcoma at the age of 20. Now offering HOPE to many! Their fundraising helps increase awareness, conduct research, improve treatment and offer supportive services. They have helped initiate and offer support to AYA Cancer Centers at Tufts Medical Center and Connecticut Children’s Hospital, and much more.

Those attending the Reiki Share were greeted by the call of hawk, soaring in a beautiful blue sky. After the share, they were invited to pick wild black raspberries in the field and to harvest fresh herbs at our ‘Retreat and Healing Sanctuary.’ Healing for Mind, Body and Spirit.

Yesterday’s visitors at our ‘healing sanctuary retreat center.’ A herd of 12 hung out all day, peacefully munching on Norway spruce, holly and rhododendron. Then resting, lying in the snow. Deep snow and lack of food have brought them closer than ever. They, like our clients, love the energy and peace found here.
