This tiny stone found on a beach in had a slight indentation. I brought it home to give to someone as a ‘worry stone.’ it was not until later that I noticed the faint outline of a ❤️ in the stone. 😎

Shinpai suna, Japanese for ‘do not worry.’ I have learned this phrase in Japanese, Spanish, Romanian, and Chinese. A very helpful phrase when working with people in need of healing and oncology patients undergoing treatment.

Wonderful weekend training at our Hamilton 'Sanctuary and Retreat Center.' Really thoughtful and insightful questions from this group.

Both days we enjoyed a 'mindful meditation' walk. Great to see the participants on the 2nd day experiencing a 'slowing down' and increased mindful experience. And, as always .... a cup of tea. For Hyakuten-sensei, Founder of Komyo ReikiDo teaches - 'A cup of tea. A cup of enlightenment.' For in the simple act of here, now as we enjoy a cup of tea, we generally experience 'satori,' or Deep Inner Peace. This is also the goal of Reiki Ryoho, along with Mind-Body improvement so we can lead a genuine healthy and happy life.

This yogi tea bag quote resonated with the weekend training - "Nature teaches harmony."

Saturday night a herd of deer bedded in the front field, just beyond the wood rail fence. As animal 'totem,' deer represent calm, peace, sensitivity, and a return to nature. Perhaps adding to our peace. ☺️

Small, interesting insects and tiny mushrooms in the grace were seen. 'Bird song,' enjoyed daily. Day 1 ended with sighting the white 'tail' of a flicker, and Day 2, the white tail of a rabbit. The flicker sighting was especially interesting, since they are more rarely seen. Flicker as an animal 'totem,' is said to represent 'self-love, hope, intuition, humility and flexibility.' All aspects of the practice of Reiki Ryoho.

'Self-Reiki for Self-Care' is the focus of Level 1 Shoden ('Beginning Teaching'). Also, learning about non-attachment and to 'let go' (letting go of ego, judgement, exception). Reciting the Reiki (Precepts) Gokai twice daily is one of the 3 ways we are taught to increase our reiki energy. This was practiced both days, in a gasshõ meditation. Other self-care opportunities included meditation, self-massage, infra-red sauna and sound healing.

Thanks to Henry's Grocery catering and OTTO Portland for the delicious lunches! Served with fresh garden salads created with local ingredients from Tendercrop Farm and our own hydroponics greens. Healthy eating and nutrition is an important part of self-care, overall good health and life balance.

Both days we practiced Komyo ReikiDo guided Self-Reiki meditation. Sound healing ended the day. Everyone went home feeling very relaxed, confident with their new and in some cases, 'refreshed' skills. Sent home with a 'gift' a fresh herbal bouquet from the gardens.

Appreciating the simple things in life … Coming across a baby robin after a storm. ‘Karen azalea’ in full bloom; a gift from my husband. Bluebirds on the mealworm feeder. The sound of birdsong. Simple encounters that bring a smile and make my heart sing. Grateful.

🩵 INTERVIEWS WITH THE MASTERS: HAYAKUTEN INAMOTO - 26/6/25 🩵

Hyakuten Inamoto Sensei is a Japanese Pure Land Buddhist Monk and internationally respected Reiki Master and Teacher. He is the founder of Komyo ReikiDo, a Reiki system rooted in traditional Japanese spiritual practices and dedicated to the original essence of Reiki as a path to personal enlightenment and compassionate action.

A student of Chiyoko Yamaguchi (who trained under Chujiro Hayashi, one of Usui’s original students), Inamoto Sensei has devoted his life to preserving the essence of the teachings of Usui Reiki Ryoho while making them accessible to a global audience. His approach places emphasis on Reiki not only as a healing technique but as a way of life- a spiritual practice focused on inner peace, mindfulness, and the cultivation of universal compassion.

Fluent in English and well-versed in cross-cultural teaching, Hyakuten Sensei has travelled extensively, offering seminars and spreading the message of Reiki as a spiritual path. He is also known for his pivotal role in clarifying the historical roots of Reiki, often working with researchers and historians to preserve the truth of Reiki’s Japanese origins.

As a gentle, humble teacher with a profound sense of humour and wisdom, Inamoto Sensei brings a deep spiritual richness to the Reiki community worldwide, and focuses on keeping Reiki simple.

On behalf of Reiki Australia, we are so happy to be able to share some of his wisdom and teachings with our members and the wider Reiki community.

Be sure to drive slowly and mindfully as you arrive at our ‘Sanctuary and Healing Retreat Center.’ Deer often can be seen in the field as you drive up the driveway. This one was seen yesterday. Today, there were 2 in the field. Wonder where the fawn is? Hopefully nearby, and safe.

When coming to or going from our Peabody office or Hamilton Healing Retreat Center, be sure to drive slowly, and be mindful of the interesting nature you might experiences ...

When turning into the Hamilton 'Healing Retreat Center,' jjust on the side of the driveway was the most beautiful fawn!

Standing there with a blade of grass, looking at me. Its ears were perked and flank covered with white spots. At first, I could not believe my eyes! I watched it slowly walk into the woods, on legs so wobbly, it must have been just recently born.

Without a camera, this fawn sighting is instead, indelibly imprinted in my mind.

I wonder, was this deer, seen a few days earlier was its mother? It looks as if it might have been pregnant. Most days, 1 or 2 deer have been seen crossing in the back, where there is an animal corridor along the marsh. When lucky, deer and coyote and the occasional dog can be spotted walking through the property.

Yesterday’s visitors at our ‘healing sanctuary retreat center.’ A herd of 12 hung out all day, peacefully munching on Norway spruce, holly and rhododendron. Then resting, lying in the snow. Deep snow and lack of food have brought them closer than ever. They, like our clients, love the energy and peace found here.
