We had not had Reiki Shares on Zoom since the pandemic. Recently, thanks to students in our Maine training, we resumed 'hybrid' style of some on Zoom and some in person for Reiki Clinic/Reiki Share.

Wonderful groups from Maine, Arizona and Massachusetts joined in for our Komyo ReikiDo style Reiki Share, new to some attendees.

We were honored by the presence and wonderful stories told by a long-time students of John Harvey Gray and one of their Reiki Masters who attended. John Gray was one of Takata Sensei's original 22 Reiki Masters (Teachers). Talking about John's trainings, "John was strict about the hand positions." As was Hawayo Takata-sensei, who brought Reiki to the West via Hawaii.

Komyo ReikiDo, a 'Keep it Simple' Reiki System is less strict about hand positions. While we begin with formal hand positions when 1st learning, we learn to offer reiki through the skills of developing the sense of and experience of 'Hibikki and Byosen,' with various sensations (which can be warm, hot, cold, tingling, pulsing, bubbling, dense/heavy, pain, etc) felt in the hands and from the body. Until one develops those skills, working with standard hand positions and going by time, is best.

This weekend we have smaller, international group in our Reiki Share/Reiki Clinic, with again, wonderful group energy. Some are brand new to Reiki. Some experienced. Some in-person, some on-line. All enjoying the experience of self-guided Reiki meditation practice, the Gokai (Reiki Precepts), Mawashi (Reiki Circle), receiving Komyo ReikiDo Open Reiju (Reiju only offered for our in-person attendees). All receiving a Reiki Session, experiencing the shared energy, peace, comfort and calm. Grateful for all those who come to my Reiki Trainings and Shares/Clinics ...

This weekend Shoden Level Reiki Training continues today, Day 2, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm. With a Reiki Share/Reiki Clinic afterwards 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Advance Registration required for all our events.

Beautiful weekend weather for our training, allowing us to be outdoors for some of class and receiving Reiju. More on that later.

Whenever you come to our 'Healing Sanctuary and Retreat Center' for Meditation, Reiki Clinics/Reiki Shares Reiki Sessions, or Reiki Trainings ... , arrive 15 minutes early or stay 15 minutes after to enjoy the surround nature. There are several meditation benches, an angel garden and field pathway, for a stroll or walking meditation. Sturdy shoes or boots are recommended, due to potential wet grass, mud or deer droppings. Note: Bug/tick spray is recommended for the field walk and avoid the woods.

Be sure to take time to 'visit' the hinoki tree, planted for its beauty as well as healing benefits. Plus, it evokes our memories of walking Japanese forests on Mount Kurama and Mount Koya-san, spiritual mountains in Japan. The Japanese Kanji on Hinoki wood block was made by our friend Ohara Chika-san, whose Ryokan I stayed at in 2011. She and her sister have gifted me these wood blocks and beautiful origami, to share with my students and patients.

Background In recent years, increasing attention has been paid to the physiological effects of nature-derived stimulation. The physiological relaxation effects caused by forest-derived olfactory stimuli have been demonstrated. However, there are no studies on the physiological effects of olfactory s...

I LOVE Inamoto Hyakuten-Sensei's Teachings of Usui Reiki Ryoho. His 'Keep It Simple' style of Reiki Practice has fit in very well with my Hospital Reiki Practice. Sensei travels internationally to teach and I follow him, whenever I can. I attended his trainings in NYC 5 times. There I met and made life-long friendships. NYC is so fun and vibrant; a microcosm of the entire world. Sensei's classes also reflect that. This video is from his 2019 NYC Shinpiden (Teacher) Training.

During the class, he received his 1st teddy bear from Komyo ReikiDo Shihan Cathy Pascale. Sensei teaches us that when offering 'Distance Reiki,' we "can use our lap, a photo or even a teddy bear."

Some of those who attended this 2019 NYC class joined me in Sedona 2022 and 2024. Wonderful reunions! Now, they will be joining me in Kauai Hawaii for Hyakuten-sensei's March 2026 Komyo ReikiDo Reiki Shinpiden Training.

This 1st-time training in Hawaii will be very interesting and memorable, combing Reiki Ryoho with Hawaiian Rainbows, Mana and Aloha Spirt. 😎

Nature is Healing ... lived experience and a great deal of research tells us so.

Enjoy the relaxing sound of ocean waves and warm sunlight. The grounding of walking in the sand and ocean and the smell of autumn leaves and the earth.

The smell of autumn leaves and earth offers health benefits including -

* stress reduction,
* improved mood, and a sense of calm.
* lower blood pressure,
* boost immune cells, and

The scents can evoke feelings of comfort and nostalgia by connecting us to nature. The scents are linked to relaxation, creating a grounding effect that promotes mental wellness and can trigger positive memories.

Join us, and make new positive memories while improving your health!

We are fortunate to be located near many beautiful places, allowing us to be outdoors in nature for meditation, Reiki Ryoho practice and training. Or to enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking or simply 'being.'

Those coming to our 'Healing Sanctuary and Retreat Center' for personal healing retreats can 'add-on' a guided walk on local beaches or in the woods; for 1 - 4 people. Contact us for details.

With Komyo ReikiDo International – I just got recognized as one of their top fans! 🎉

Since 2008, I have been supporting the standards and teachings of Inamoto Hyakuten-sensei, Buddhist monk from Kyoto Japan and Founder of Komyo ReikiDo (formerly Komyo Reiki Kai).

Komyo ReikiDo Shinpiden Training in Hawaii March 2026 will be my 16th training with Sensei, and 5th time hosting his training. Along with 2 visits to Kyoto (2011 and 2023), participating in his Reiki Shares at Daizen-in, sharing in meals and visits to Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines and pilgrimages to Kurama-Yama. Along with a serendipitous meeting with him in Kauai in 2019, when attending the funeral ceremony of Phyllis Furumoto, Grand Master of the Reiki Alliance and granddaughter of Hawayo Takata-sensei.

One might wonder why I continue to take classes with Hyakuten-sensei? Sensei is a spiritual teacher, who I have chosen to follow.

Firstly, I learn a great deal, whenever I am with him; in classes, in conversation and even in his silence. Secondly, receiving in-person Reiju from him always seems to elevate my practice and deepen my understanding of Reiki Ryoho. Thirdly, I admire his humility and enjoy his sensei of humor. To me, Hyakuten-sensei 'exudes' reiki and epitomizes Reiki Ryoho practice.

Not to mention, the many wonderful people I have met and international connections made through his classes and this organization. Sensei tirelessly and gratuitously holds free monthly on-line Reiki Gatherings; joining us all together in practice, in community and in Peace. Here, people can experience Reiki, ask questions and hear his additional 'wisdom teachings.'

For this and more, I am most GRATEFUL ...
心から感謝します (kokoro kara kansha shimasu) 🙏

Those coming for sessions, classes and shares, feel free to bring a container to take home some fresh herbs while they last.

We have an abundance of oregano, parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. Plus mint and lemon verbena, which are great in water or tea. We also have an abundance of habanero pepper, for those who really like to 'spice up' their meals. Or, enjoy the scent, look or taste of our home-grown lavender.

Lavender (Lavandula angustifoliais) known for it's medicinal properties, shown here from the Cleveland Clinic - https://health.clevelandclinic.org/health-benefits-of-lavender -

* Supports sleep
* Improves mood
* Reduces stress and anxiety
* Reduces pain and inflammation
* Natural cleaning agent with antimicrobial and antiviral properties

You may request an 'add-on' of relaxing aromatherapy with your Reiki Session. Note: let us know in advance of any sensitivity or allergy. Some people may be sensitive to the scent of lavender, which can then experience a cough or headache. Let us know of any allergies prior to use).

Next time you are here, enjoy a cup of lavender or other herbal tea.

"A cup of tea. A cup of enlightenment." — from the teachings of Inamoto Hyakuten-sensei

An integrative medicine specialist explains what you should know about lavender, including how to use it, its health benefits and the best form to take it in.

What a wonderful group in attendance at our Shoden Level 1 Reiki Training in Greene Maine!!

Warm Indian Summer weather leant to much of the weekend training being held outdoors. Oh, the scent of fresh air, mixed with autumn leaves and our equine companions! Heavenly.

Experiencing Reiju and our outdoors Reiki Share was new to some, and a much appreciated experience. Loved the dragonfly that circled our Reiki Share, along with the bats that swooped by after. Dragonfly denotes - "Embrace a New Phase: Be open to profound personal or spiritual change. Seek Deeper Truth
Cultivate Inner Joy: Open yourself to the magic and wonder of life. Be More Adaptable." So in-line with our Reiki Training!
As an animal totem, the bat symbolizes intuition, transformation, rebirth, and navigating the unknown. Also a perfect alignment!

A Big Thank you to Sam Morrison for hosting at your amazing, historic farmhouse and riding center. Attendees ranged from new to Reiki Ryoho, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Degree Practitioners. Thoughtful questions let to wonderful discussions.

I so appreciated the 'tender hearts' in attendance, who live and practice in KINDNESS and COMPASSION daily, gathered together, supporting one another in Reiki Ryoho Practice. ❤🙏 Exceptional group with great camaraderie!

A common theme for those in attendance was wanting to 'deepen' their practice and understanding' of Reiki.

Thank you to our colleagues in Maine, Sam Morrison and Reiki Teachers Martha Spruce and Joanne Sekunda-Rawlings for sending such diligent students, who truly 'sat' in Shoshin, Zen 'Beginner's Mind' as they took in the information on a deeper level. We look forward to seeing you all again soon, on Zoom.

The focus for the weekend was 'Self-Care through Self-Reiki,' the Reiki (Precepts) Gokai and the often times challenging aspects of 'Letting Go' and 'Non-attachment.' What we discussed and also experienced in the weekend training, was how in this practice of 'Letting Go' and 'Non-attachment,' often times we allow for more to come in. This is true in life, as well as in our Reiki practice.

~ Kansha sh*te, to all my Teachers, mentors and students, past and present who continue to teach me; ... 'always learning.'

Hybrid 'Reiki Share' this Sunday October 5th from 1:30 - 3:30 pm - On Zoom and in-person North of Boston. PM for details.
