🌟 Care Campaign Spotlight: Meet Fatima Del Carme Ramirez Mejia 🌟

In 2012, Fatima began her journey with us at the Passaic branch as a caregiver. Pregnant, planning her wedding, and determined to support her family, she made the brave decision to take a caregiving course. Shortly after, she joined CareFinders Total Care and stepped into her first role.

Fatima’s very first assignment was caring for a bedbound patient who depended on her completely. “At first, it was frustrating,” she recalls. “But my mindset quickly changed. I realized I was doing good for someone who genuinely needed me.” That experience shaped her outlook on caregiving and revealed the true value of her work.

From those early days, Fatima’s career has continued to grow. She became an Assistant Coordinator in 2013, later advanced to Coordinator, joined the Payroll Department in 2017, transitioned to Service Verification in 2023, and in 2024 earned her promotion to Branch Supervisor. Throughout her journey, she has been supported by her mentor, Katy Martinez, Regional Operations Director, whose guidance and encouragement remain a source of inspiration today.

Now, as Branch Supervisor, Fatima describes her role as both challenging and rewarding. Leading her branch requires patience, self-awareness, and calm while managing individuals, supporting caregivers, and addressing client needs.

Her advice to caregivers: “Be responsible. That’s the first step. When you take responsibility, you learn to love what you do—and loving what you do will elevate you.”

Fatima’s story is a reminder that caregiving is not just a job, it is a journey of resilience, growth, and the power to change lives.

🌟 Care Campaign Spotlight: Meet Sonja! 🌟

In 2018, Sonja began her journey with Panhandle Solutions as a caregiver, inspired by her own mother’s needs after a spinal stroke. What started as caring for her mom quickly grew into a full-time role and from there, a career filled with compassion and growth. ❤️

“I’ve always enjoyed being there for others, whether that’s cooking a meal, helping with bathing, or simply being a companion. Some of my favorite memories are playing Yahtzee with a client who loved the game, or working on puzzles with another. It’s the little moments that mean the most.”

Since then, Sonja has grown tremendously within Panhandle Solutions, starting as a caregiver in 2018, becoming a Care Coordinator in 2022, moving into a Service Verification role in 2023, and proudly stepping into her current position as Branch Supervisor in 2025. 🎉

Along the way, she was mentored and supported by Christen, the Regional Operations Manager, who guided and encouraged her as she grew into each new role. Today, as a Branch Supervisor, Sonja spends her days balancing dashboards, timesheets, and schedules while staying closely connected with both clients and caregivers. The most rewarding part? “Making sure our clients’ needs are met and knowing I’ve made a difference.”

From caregiver to leader, Sonja is proof that dedication and heart can take you far. We’re so proud to have her on the Panhandle Solutions team!

🌟 Caregiver Spotlight: John Obanife 🌟

Meet John, one of the incredible team members behind the care we provide every day. His journey with us started back in 2010, fresh out of the military and looking for a new path in life.

“I had just moved from Seattle and went to a job fair where I found All Metro Health Care in New York. I was trained and placed in the field soon after,” John shares. “My first client was one of the toughest cases I’ve had, he was total care, which made me so scared at first, but my client was kind, funny, and taught me a lot. That experience stuck with me.”

Since then, John has continued to grow with the company — from Caregiver, to Compliance Officer, then HR Coordinator, and now as an Employee Support Associate. His dedication and steady presence have made a difference in the lives of clients and team members alike.

When asked what advice he’d give to others looking to grow with All Metro, John keeps it simple:
“Go for it. You never know where things might lead — it’s always worth a try.”

🌟 Caregiver Spotlight: Quavarra Fallen 🌟
At Modivcare, we believe in growing from the heart. Quavarra’s story is the perfect reminder of what’s possible when compassion meets dedication.

She began her caregiving journey in 2016, driven by the strength of her mother - a single mom of four who juggled multiple jobs, including working in nursing homes. Watching her mom give her all inspired Quavarra to follow in her footsteps. “My mom trained me at my first job. She’s the one who motivated me,” Quavarra shared.

That first day was full of nerves, but Quavarra’s joy and genuine care for her clients quickly set her apart. “Seeing them happy to see me, and me happy to see them, that made all the difference,” she recalls.

Over the years, she grew into new roles: Day Program Team Member, Employee Support Specialist, and now, Orientation Specialist. Today, she brings energy and purpose to every training session, helping new caregivers understand just how meaningful this work truly is.

Quavarra’s growth is a reminder that when we care deeply and lead with purpose, incredible things can happen. We’re incredibly proud to have Quavarra as part of the Modivcare family. 💙

🌟 Caregiver Spotlight: Clarismely Toribio 🌟
Meet one of our incredible team members, Clarismely, whose journey shows just how far care, commitment, and curiosity can take you!

She began her career with us in 2016 as a caregiver, offering companionship and personal care. Inspired by her mom who was working as a caregiver at the time and still works with us at A&B Homecare Solutions — Clarismely stepped into the role with a mix of nerves and excitement.

Her love for the job was instant. She shares how much she enjoyed getting to know her clients, learning about them, and becoming a part of their daily lives. Clarismely even recalls how some of her former clients still ask about her to this day.
That passion fueled a powerful career journey: From caregiver to CNA, then to office manager, recruiter, and now a Talent Acquisition (TA) specialist, helping recruit for roles across Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey.

In her words, the most rewarding part of her job today?
“I’m a matchmaker in real life, and this job gives me purpose — matching people’s qualities to the right job.”
With 9 years of experience in the care field, Clarismely encourages new caregivers to take charge of their growth. She believes it’s important to stay informed about the roles available, stay motivated, and always seek opportunities to grow in your career.

🌟 Caregiver Spotlight: Caryn Zelko Sours 🌟
Please join us in celebrating Caryn Zelko Sours, whose incredible journey with us began in 2005 as a caregiver. Inspired by the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) waiver program in NY, Caryn was curious, compassionate, and ready to make a difference - even when her first assignment, supporting someone with Down Syndrome and a TBI, was daunting. She rose to the challenge with courage and heart.

Caryn’s favorite part of caregiving? Sharing life. From shopping with her clients, going to the movies, and attending fairs, she found joy in every moment.

Her career has been one of steady growth: from Care Coordinator in 2007 to Office Supervisor, then opening the Corning branch in 2011 as Branch Manager, and now serving as a Performance Excellence Specialist—supporting NY growth, onboarding, and contracts across PCS states.

With guidance from mentors like Seth Shapiro and Jen Chipman, Caryn has become a key leader. What motivates her today is working across nearly every PCS state and helping others grow.

Her advice to caregivers: "Go above and beyond, speak up, and bring solutions."
To her younger self: "Be confident. Be brave."

🌟 Caregiver Spotlight: Maireni Vargas 🌟

Maireni began her journey in 2013 as a Home Health Aide at our Massachusetts branch, Multicultural Home Care. At the time, she was learning English while balancing her new role with being a mother to two young children. With the unwavering support of her family and a deep passion for helping others, Maireni fully embraced her caregiving role — sharing that what fulfilled her most was knowing that someone relied on her care and compassion each day.

Over the years, Maireni’s dedication and drive led her to grow within the company. She advanced from caregiver to supportive trainer, CNA, and now serves as a Scheduling Coordinator at our Lawrence office — a role where she supports caregivers daily and builds strong relationships across the team.
When asked what advice she would give to others, Maireni shared:
"You have to have compassion. One day you’ll be older yourself, and how you treat others today truly matters."

Maireni’s story is an inspiring example of how hard work, heart, and dedication can lead to incredible growth. We are incredibly proud to have had Maireni as part of our Multicultural Home Care family for the past 12 years. We appreciate you, Maireni!
