A few days ago, I shared a video of the monks walking for peace as they passed through Sharpsburg, Georgia. That moment stayed with me.
When I passed that same spot the next day, my mind immediately returned to watching them walk by and to the calm, resolve, and grounded presence I felt in that moment.
Seeing them walk was a quiet reminder:
Peace isn’t just a concept; it’s a way of living.
Their message wasn’t loud or confrontational.
It was lived.
Step by step.
As a Christian and as someone who works closely with leaders and teams, I see this truth often: peace shapes how we show up, how we lead, and how we relate to others. That kind of serenity always creates a ripple effect.
What stood out to me most was this:
We can’t control the chaos around us, but we can take responsibility for what’s happening within us.
That belief sits at the heart of my business name, Oasis of Serenity.
An oasis isn’t the absence of difficulty; it’s a place of renewal in the middle of it.
Even in seasons of pressure, uncertainty, or transition, we can learn how to stay grounded and intentional starting with the man or woman in the mirror. Most of us remember Michael Jackson’s reminder that real change starts there. 😊
When we choose calm and
self-awareness, especially under pressure, the way we show up changes.
In our homes.
In our workplaces.
In our churches.
In our communities.
Peace doesn’t start globally.
It starts within us even in the midst of disruption.
AND then it ripples outward.
👉🏾Reflection for leaders and teams:
As you look ahead, how might choosing serenity reshape the way you respond, relate, and lead in the season ahead?
