Why does it take an average of 7-10 years to diagnose endometriosis? Conditions that primarily affect women are historically under-funded and under-researched. We are advocating for research equity.

In honor of Women's History Month, let's address the mortality gap. The U.S. has the highest maternal mortality rate among developed nations, and for Black women, the risk is 3x higher. This isn't a biological failure; it’s a systemic one. We need birth equity now.

On , we celebrate the progress of women globally while fighting for reproductive justice and equal access to life-saving technology. Equity for one is equity for all.

In honor of Women's History Month, let's talk about clinical gaslighting and the dismissal of women's pain. Studies show that women wait longer in ERs and are less likely to be prescribed effective pain medication than men. 'Clinical gaslighting' is a real barrier to health equity. It’s time to listen to women.

Welcome to Women’s History Month. This month, we recognize the women who built our public health systems while acknowledging that women—especially women of color—still face significant gender-based gaps in care.

Let's talk about "The Weathering Effect" and how it affects Chronic Stress and Hypertension. Systemic racism isn't just a social issue; it’s a physiological one. The 'weathering' effect—chronic stress from discrimination—contributes to earlier onset of hypertension in Black communities. Health equity means addressing the root causes.

National Wear Red Day is an annual awareness event on the first Friday of February where people wear red to highlight heart disease as the #1 killer of women, encouraging awareness, conversation, and action to prevent cardiovascular disease through healthy habits and checkups, all part of the Go Red for Women movement.

Did you know nearly 50% of Black women ages 20 and older have cardiovascular disease? On , we wear red to spark a conversation about the clinical bias that often leads to undiagnosed heart conditions in Black women.

This February, we honor Black History by fighting for a healthier future. Black adults are 30% more likely to die from heart disease than non-Hispanic white adults. We aren't just celebrating history; we’re advocating for health equity.

“The time is always right to do what is right.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

On this MLK Day, we are reminded that health equity is not a future goal—it is a present responsibility. Doing what is right means confronting disparities, advocating for access, and ensuring that where someone lives, looks like, or comes from does not determine the quality of care they receive.

Dr. King’s legacy challenges us to move beyond reflection and into action. The work of health equity requires courage, accountability, and a willingness to disrupt systems that were never designed to serve everyone equally.

The time is not later.
The time is not convenient.
The time is now.

Let us honor Dr. King by continuing the work—intentionally, ethically, and unapologetically.
