The People’s Open Market Locations

Aloha readers! Here’s another reason why we’re so lucky to live in Hawai’i : In multi-cultural Hawaiʻi, you'll find a variety of foods associated with the different ethnic groups at the many People’s Open Market locations throughout the island. Not only do they offer a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, some of also offer fish fresh from the ocean as well as fresh farmed shrimps and prawns many of which are sold "live" and are sold at prices which usually much lower than retail. In addition to these, a wide- variety of beautiful Hawai’i grown flowers, such as ginger, orchids and anthuriums are offered for sale too. Many of the vendors accept credit, debit and EBT card. However, it’s always a good idea to bring a variety of large and small bills as well as coins and don’t forget to bring along your reusable shopping bags too!!

Aloha Readers! With summer quickly approaching, many of us will be heading to our island’s many beautiful beaches to beat the heat. Fortunately, the City and County of Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation offers all-terrain beach wheelchair access and beach mat sites on every one of Oahu’s coasts so our non-ambulatory family and friends can have the opportunity to join in on the fun.
